The end of August is fast approaching, soon it will be time for many of our migrants that have not already left to head to their winter homes down south. Although the bright breeding colors of the male birds is past, there are still lots of color to be seen, with both the parents and now the juvenile birds actively foraging for food. I did get some time behind the lens this weekend to take a few bird pics, as well as a couple of macro shots I figured I share as well! :)

A windless overcast morning after a night of rainfall created some great opportunities for macro photography. Finding a new-to-me moth and flower species was an added bonus! Windless mornings are not common in Newfoundland, which is needed for long exposure/focus stacking macro photos. :)

A few photos taken this month, some macro pics, some scenery pics, and of course some bird pics. The weather is finally beginning to warm up, and as we head into July my photo-taking will include more macro photography, and maybe some scenery as well. :)

This weekend I kept it close to home, but a couple of early morning walks rewarded me with some great photo opportunities. Birds are busy feeding and singing, our resident snowshoe hare is helping trim the lawn, and the chipmunks are already busy storing seeds. :)
