This has been one of the hardest posts for me to write.
If you’ve noticed things have been quieter here—fewer stories, fewer posts—it’s because big changes have been happening behind the scenes.
When I started Ashley Fay Photography, my husband and I made a three-year agreement. For three years, I would focus completely on building this dream of mine, pouring my heart and soul into a career I truly believed could last forever.
And what a beautiful three years it’s been. I’ve had the privilege of capturing memories that matter most—weddings filled with love, families laughing together, glowing new moms with their precious little ones, and magical sessions in sunflower and tulip fields. Every single shoot brought me joy and reminded me why I love what I do. There’s nothing like being trusted to document the moments that mean the most to people.
But as the years went on, challenges began to pile up. Rising costs of living, fewer bookings, and clients understandably needing to prioritize their budgets—it all added up. I found myself working harder for less, often just to break even. Even with no bookings, the expenses of running a business—subscriptions, insurance, website fees—didn’t stop.
In October, we reached the three-year mark, and it was time to step back and reflect.
As much as this has been my dream career, I’ve had to face the reality: it’s no longer sustainable for our family. That doesn’t make the decision any easier, but it’s what’s best for us right now.
So, with a heavy but grateful heart, I’m stepping back from actively promoting Ashley Fay Photography.
I’ll still be available for weddings and family sessions, but you won’t see me actively marketing or maintaining a website. Instead, I’ll be here, occasionally sharing the beautiful moments I’ve already had the privilege of capturing, as well as the weddings and sessions I’ve already committed to in 2025.
My DMs and email will remain open, and I’ll always treasure every inquiry that comes my way.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years! It’s been a gift to be part of your lives, and I’m endlessly grateful.
Much love
- Ashley xo
