Better late than never! 🏆

Huge congratulations to Don Tait for earning a 3rd Merit Award in the CAPA Monochrome competition!

Don’s striking image, “Medusa,” was part of our club’s official submission back in November 2025. In an incredibly competitive field, he secured the award while representing CVPS.

We are so proud to have talent like this representing our club.

FIELD TRIP!
A couple of weeks ago, CVPS paid a visit to Store. Lots to see (and some of us bought a thing or two...)

Congratulations to Bill Bentley, who has secured 1st Place in our January "Hidden Faces" competition.

His winning image, "Summer Swing," is a masterclass in storytelling. By capturing a young girl mid-air in front of a sprawling sunflower field, Bill proved that you don't need a facial expression to radiate pure, unadulterated joy. The movement, the golden tones, and the hidden perspective make this shot feel like a timeless memory.

An absolute standout and a favorite across the club. Congratulations, Bill! 👏📸

We're thrilled to announce the 2nd Place winner in our January "Hidden Faces" Photo Competition!

Congratulations to Judy Johnston for her incredibly evocative image, "Checkmate". Judy masterfully captured the raw frustration of the losing player, even though their face remains hidden from view. The composition speaks volumes about the intensity of the game and the moment of defeat. It's a brilliant interpretation of our "Hidden Faces" theme, showing how powerfully emotions can be conveyed through posture, setting, and suggestion.

Well done, Judy, on capturing such a compelling narrative!

We are excited to kick off our "Hidden Faces" reveals for our January Photo Competition!
Our club members cast their votes, and taking 3rd Place is this atmospheric shot by Fernanda Gimenez.

Fernanda’s capture of a dark silhouette against a foggy dock perfectly tapped into the "Hidden" theme. The mystery and mood of the composition clearly resonated with our community.

Congratulations, Fernanda, on a well-deserved win! 👏📸

Congratulations, Bill Bentley!

Our member Bill Bentley received an Honourable Mention in the CAPA 2025 Monochrome Individual Competition, earning a high total score for his entries. His images are striking and thoughtful studies in monochrome, showcasing a strong command of light, tone, and composition.
