Thank you to Northumberland County and the BECN for the opportunity to participate in the Northumberland Summer Company Program! This program allowed me to learn so many new things over the summer. I learned how to create a Business Plan and track sales, how to manufacture my products (modelling and 3D-printing, producing cards, sketches, and buttons), marketing (how to be interviewed on the radio), and customer service (how to connect with customers at markets). I practiced time management and self-discipline while being my own boss. With the Summer Company grant, I was able to purchase my own 3D printer, which allowed me to practice my CAD skills and 3D-print my own designs to sell. As I enter my next year of Engineering, I will bring with me these skills I have developed, as well as a newfound appreciation for entrepreneurship.💡
