Hours of stillness for one second of flight. 🦊

This adult cross fox has the pounce dialed in — ears locked forward, weight coiled, then airborne. Mousing behavior like this is the whole reason wildlife photography rewards patience over reflexes. You wait. You wait some more. And then, for half a second, everything lines up.

It’s still completely surreal when a long-term dream finally comes true.

I’ve been dreaming of owning a 600mm f/4 lens for most of my career. Now that it’s finally in my hands, I feel like I need to pinch myself to make sure it’s real.

Thank you to every single person who has ever bought a print, a calendar, or one of my books, and to everyone who takes the time to like, comment, and share my posts. Because of your incredible support, this dream purchase was made possible!

Here is my favorite shot of many incredible moments (in my totally biased opinion) from this weekend. I had such a fantastic time breaking in the new gear and hitting the “reset” button with the Camera35 St. John’s Club.
