Jessica Bate Portrait, lifestyle and brand photographer in Vancouver, BC + the Fraser Valley My work has always been inspired by true life and simple moments.

My goal is to create beautiful imagery that is timeless, earthy and oh so dreamy. Images that are close to nature and authentic to its original colours, with a touch of grain and elevated feel. Inspired by film, early compact cameras and the photos taken by our parents in 1998. I so admire a photograph taken with a quick digital snap, or the quiet intention behind film. No tampering, no photoshop, not even a touch up. Imperfect, and simply printed and put in a photo album for children and grandchildren to see. I am inspired by simple portrait artists like Samuel Elkins, who capture such authentic and raw moments. I want albums full of special photos so that I can remember life.
