Paget Peak didn’t exactly cooperate for sunrise yesterday. 😂

We headed up hoping for some mountain light but the weather had other plans... snow, clouds and pretty much zero visibility.

On the way back down though the clouds finally started to open up and gave us a few brief glimpses of the mountains. 🏔️❄️📷

The light lasted about 5 minutes at Moraine Lake before everything went flat.

Then this little long-tailed weasel popped out.

And suddenly the sunrise wasn't so important anymore.

I ended up spending the rest of the morning watching this little murderer run around, trying to catch a pika and small birds.

Sometimes you go looking for a landscape photo and end up getting completely distracted by wildlife. 🐾

Last year I tried to photograph a Long-tailed Weasel at Moraine Lake, but never managed to get a shot.

Today, during sunrise, I finally got one. 😅

Around 7 AM, not exactly the brightest conditions and I had to push the camera all the way to ISO 12,800. 🐾🏔️
