When your clients ask if they can bring and wear their carved pumpkins to their fall session, of course you say YES! 🎃👻

And since they were already bringing the pumpkins, I had to ask if they were game to try this pumpkin head photo shoot trend. Safe to say, they understood the assignment! 😂

And then there were four.

I always say this, but one of my favourite things about doing photography is getting to capture different milestones for my clients.

I love getting those random messages saying, “We’re expecting!” and they want maternity photos. Then sometime later, it’s “Baby is here!” and I get to meet the newest member of the family.

It’s just really cool to see families grow and to be there with my camera for a little part of it. Never gets old.

What’s my best therapy? This ⬇️

Taking photos. Meeting people. Talking with you between shots. Laughing with your kids. Hearing your stories. And getting to capture a little piece of your life.

Photography has always been more than just taking pretty pictures for me. These sessions fill my cup in ways you probably don’t even realize.

Every now and then, I step away from my usual outdoor family sessions and get to do something a little different, like branding and headshots.

Earlier this month, I had the honour of photographing the amazing humans (and dogs) behind Kindred Roots Therapy Inc. I always joke that being comfortable in front of the camera must be a requirement to work there because, seriously, they were all pros. 😂

But my favourite part was getting to know each of them a little more and having some really great conversations along the way. Good photos, good chats, good people. That’s really all I could ask for.

So great seeing this family again, and wow, the kids have grown so much! This time, we got to celebrate a pretty special milestone: Dad officially becoming a Peace Officer. Congratulations!

I’ve known these two for a few years now, so I was genuinely happy when they chose me to capture their maternity photos.

And honestly, this session was just fun. Lots of smiles, lots of laughs, and good vibes from beginning to end. Exactly how I like my sessions to be.

These two are going to be wonderful parents.

Also, a little reminder that mini sessions aren’t just for family photos. Couples, maternity, just because... come hang out with me for 30 minutes and we’ll make some really nice photos.

Location, location, location! Don’t get me wrong, location matters. But for me, it’s always more about the people in front of my camera and the connection between them.

You don’t always need the perfect backdrop. Give me a set of stairs, some golden light, and a family just being themselves, and we’re good.

So don’t overthink the location. Just bring your people, and I’ll take care of the rest. DM me to book your session.
