“It's not what you see, but how you see it”

EXPLORE - CREATE - INSPIRE - EDUCATE - CONSERVE

“The mission I have as a photographer is to explore the natural world and strive to achieve perfection every time I capture the moments. I am constantly learning, evolving and pushing the frontiers to create and present the beauty of our planet in the best possible light. The vision behind that is to inspire a section of population that would never have the opportunity to experience those few precious moments of nature’s brilliance. I hope that my efforts to strive for perfection in those captured moments invokes a sense of appreciation for the beauty of the natural world, and with that appreciation it instills a thought to conserve and protect that beauty for future generations. I focus to educate the audience with the science behind some of the natural phenomenons and highlight actions that go a long way in conservation.”

Happy World Glacier Day everyone!

This year I am happy to announce my work about glaciers titled: Anitya Nila (Sanskrit) - The Impermanent Blue, Exploring Alberta’s Wild Frozen Frontiers

“Anitya Nila” takes you deep into the heart of Alberta’s impermanent wild blue glaciers, revealing its raw beauty through technically demanding photography.

Alberta’s glaciers, strung along the spine of the Canadian Rockies, are among the province’s most vital and fragile natural systems—feeding rivers, sustaining ecosystems, and shaping the landscapes we admire today. Yet these ancient bodies of ice are retreating at an accelerating pace due to climate change, with many projected to significantly diminish within our lifetime. Through my photography, I aim to capture not just their striking beauty—the luminous blues, intricate textures, and immense scale—but also their impermanence. Each image is both a celebration and a record, created with the hope of inspiring a deeper connection and a sense of responsibility in viewers, encouraging thoughtful conservation of these disappearing frozen frontiers.

I will be presenting Anitya Nila in Calgary this April! Would love to see you there!!

A magical moment and this has to be one of the best auroras I experienced in the past 10 years. After starting out in Kananaskis, I decided to give this popular Aurora viewing spot a try fully aware of the crowd situation given this was such a big Aurora nite. Arrived on location just before 10pm and got set up just in time for the skies to reach levels of insanity not seen before. This was one of the biggest solar storms in numbers and those 5-10 minutes of sky euphoria made up for the previous nite being cloudy all over Alberta. The active motion with the colors and the pink lined green curtains was so bright and around you and it felt like one could almost put your hand out and touch them. It then broke into overhead coronas that led to a pulsating dance and quietly faded away as quickly as it started. A magical moment etched in memory for ever captured on two different cameras with fisheye lenses.
