I may not be booking portrait sessions currently, but I am still available for product photography and branding work! I made a little lightbox this weekend with stuff we had around the house, and captured some of Dan's radioactive gem collection for the website we've been working on.
This piece is a 3.28ct Thorite, from Mogok, Myanmar. Dan wrote: "Thorite is a thorium mineral that produces black and brown crystals that can occasionally be cut into gemstones. This one gives off an unsettling 19,000 cpm at 1 cm".

Photo restorations are one of my favorite things to do. Taking an image that someone felt was gone forever and making it new again feels healing, the process means so much to me. This beautiful image started with a photo of the photo, and the only copy available to work from was on Facebook! A challenge that I found extremely satisfying. While I am still not be taking on in person sessions, I'm editing almost every day, so feel free to reach out with any restorations or editing you may have! 🖤

I was lucky to spend about 3 weeks on and off in Athabasca, watching the season turn. I saw the leaves change color then fall, took in the milky way each clear night, caught the Draconid meteor shower, and watched every single sunset. The world feels heavy a lot of these days, but looking up into the sky and just letting it in the past few weeks (while sometimes overwhelming and hard to fathom), it has the potential to make everything around me feel smaller. Make my problems feel distant or less important. It was like driving up to some high hill and looking down on downtown as a teenager in my first car, but with less carbon emission and cigarette smoking 🤣. Hang in there friends, take in a couple sunsets if you can.
