The Blue Morpho Butterfly is one of my favourite living things to see in the forest. Although not exceedingly rare, they are facing threats so seeing one is always a pleasure. They have one of the largest wingspans of allbutterflies at 6 inches, which makes them easier to spot! But for some reason, they are very hard to photograph as they flit around, often landing and closing their wings immediately.

Take a second look! This yellow-hooded Blackbird from Panama looks A LOT like the yellow headed blackbird we get around here! I almost didn’t bother photographing it because of the similarities, but I actually think it’s a really beautiful bird. Both the female and male are stunning in their own right.

Morant’s Curve in Banff National Park - it’s worth the wait to see a train come around this famous bend. It’s also a photographer‘s dream because the train goes so slowly that you can line up the perfect shot without rushing! I’m also not sure how I managed to get this song to fit perfectly with the video I made, but I’m here for it! 🇨🇦
