From a house husband application to an engagement session that looks like it belongs in a magazine.
Mikayla joked on her dating profile that she was looking for a house husband so she could adopt a dog. Shervin took the job posting seriously and sent her an actual application, complete with a CV and references.
They met for coffee, where Mikayla proceeded to interview him for four hours. Safe to say, he got the job. 😂
For their engagement session, they wanted something completely different from the typical warm, outdoorsy photos. Since they love cocktails, speakeasies, and finding new spots when they travel, Pricket Richard was the perfect setting.
So we leaned all the way in.
Editorial, Vogue-inspired, a little sexy, a little moody, and very storytelling-focused. Less “pose for your engagement photos” and more “come hang out with us while we tell a story about these two.”
And honestly, they were MADE for it.
I love when couples let me create something that feels a little different and a lot more like them. These photos feel like a snapshot of this exact season of their lives — and I cannot wait to photograph the next chapter at their wedding next summer.
Also, the dinosaur debate remains unresolved: stegosaurus vs. velociraptor. 🦖
