I always tell my kids that they are made on purpose for a purpose. I firmly believe that we are uniquely made on purpose with something - gifts or abilities - that can make the world better.

I think that’s what I love about branding sessions; seeing you, in your element, doing what you were made to do, and then creating images with you that help you take that into the world.

All those getting ready feels.

I know it’s tempting to not have someone photograph the getting ready moments. Whether it’s because you’re nervous or you just don’t think it’s necessary, let me tell you, I’ve never had a bride come back and say she wish she hadn’t done it. It’s always gratitude and surprise at all the little moments and special details, all the emotion and context that are captured during that time.

Like every other part of your wedding day, it goes so darn fast and those getting ready moments are such a huge part.

It’s seems fitting that Canadian Thanksgiving falls right in the heart of busy season because, alongside all the busy feels, there is always an overwhelming sense of gratitude for all of you.

I’ve been a little quieter on here but definitely not in the outside world. It’s been an absolutely wild few weeks. There have been mini sessions, lifestyle sessions and extended family sessions, newborn and maternity sessions, weddings and corporate work and almost everything in between.

We are tired but we are grateful.

If you know a photographer, send them coffee because we are burning the candle at every end, y’all.

Ps. This is the spot for November mountain minis and there’s two spots left. 😉

Is there such a thing as too many newborn photos?

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say no because LOOK AT THAT FACE.

I remember taking the shot of that little grin, looking at the back of my camera and saying to mom “we’re done. We nailed it.” And, of course, proceeding to take a whole bunch more.

I can’t guarantee baby grins but I sure can capture your sweet newborn in all of their sweet magicalness…is that even a word??

One year (and one day) ago, these two celebrated their love with their nearest and dearest. We had the most beautiful day for a deeply meaningful ceremony and a lot of laughter.

I feel like that’s how these two live life together … with meaningful moments intentionally lived and full, rich laughter.
