When celebrations are decades in the making, and they so carefully invite those they love most to be there with them, and somehow I get to be there for it– I want you to imagine how giddy I am FOR YOU.

We spent an evening last month talking about their past and all the things they've built while wandering a quiet corner of downtown. We talked about their future and the dreams they have together and threw a couple wishing rocks, and today we will celebrate it all again for Devan and Jordan's wedding. How sweet is this life my my my my my. Congratulations sweet friends!

Today with Vanessa + Dylan is something they've been patiently awaiting amidst all of life's going ons and I can hardly wait to spend it with them and their people ahhhhh hello double header weekend.

Anniversaries look different for everyone, but returning to yourself is something to be celebrated every day. This anniversary session with Julia + Andrew has been patiently awaiting their return to my feed.

Still not any better at sharing my work here on my feed, but to take the pressure off, here are a few snippets of a session and couple I hold so sweetly in my heart (and their sweet pup). Ohhhh to return to the shores of this lake in my mind.

"We want to feel relaxed, have so much fun + be present in our day and we are drawn to the way you capture moments and not photos."

Is something I just received in an inquiry for 2027. This, or something close to it, is a common thread in the way folks see my approach to photographing celebrations and that's how I know I am speaking a language to couples that they understand and resonate with- you can have incredible portraits of your day, and you will, but I'm also simply there for you, not the photos.

Years and years ago I rebranded with the sentiment of being here for the people, and not the pictures- and I suppose it's true in how people see my work, but also so so deeply true in the way I see you.

I see you and your day as so much more than a wedding couple, a maid of honor, a parent, a friend who traveled to celebrate you, an aunt who is like an honorary parent, or a family friend who has known you your whole life, I see you and your day as a culmination of just how much someone can be loved.

Let me show you how wonderful photos can feel when someone isn't there just to photograph your day, but to photograph the moments and people in your day WITH so much love and care. Watch for a story coming today where I yap more about this ♡

I probably should have told you this so much sooner, but Tash + Quinton planned theee most perfect micro wedding in the mountains and I really think every one planning any kind of celebration should remember to continue centering yourself and what makes you feel closest to one another. What is there to say when the look on their faces says it all? I'm truly asking because I don't have words for how incredible it was to photograph this couple and celebrate them after years of watching their love grow the deepest roots. Will 2026 be the year I get back into posting regularly?
Will it be rooted in sharing my work, rather than the worry of deciding how to share?

Deciding to let pieces of my heart, shift from tucking themselves into the safest and coziest parts of myself is something I'm rediscovering and shining my light on because navigating things as an ever-growing and changing human is so strange. I ache for versions of myself that shared in curiosity, in love and in connection but it isn't always as easy as that.

So for now here are photos from an incredible engagement with some sweet friends, who trusted me despite weather and conditions, to create the room and space they were so deserving of when settling into the realization that they're only deepening their sense of self, together.

I guess I want to remind couples, newly engaged or not, that I'm always reminding and supporting then to show up as they are, not as they think I think they should be. So letting this serve as a reminder to myself to also show up as I am, not as they think I should be, because that's where the magic of connection lives. In the human-ness of it all. Secondary reminder that I'm here for the people *and they're here for me* not just the pictures.

The two of them couldn’t stop laughing, and I just remember leaving this session wondering how the world aligns such great people with me which is how I felt leaving my elopement yesterday.

This session started when he began taking his jacket off only for Carley to hault up and give him that look— the one that said "oh my god, only you” and then it never really stopped until he finally relented and removed his knife from his pocket.

That’s the stuff I live for. A fraction of a moment, the real moments, the showing up in front of me knowing you're going to be seen beyond what you show up carrying, experiences or pocket knives alike. The deep-belly laughs. The way you two exist together when no one’s watching—except, well, I am… but like, not in a creeper from the bush way. But in like a, how weren't you a friend of ours beforehand kind of way.

You don’t need a big milestone to book a session, although I'm booking only 2 more spots this October since I am deep into what editing through my que looks like. Maybe you just want to freeze this version of your love. The right-now kind. The soft, sweet, silly, no-one-else-gets-it kind. The honest+ magic moments that were always yours to begin with.
