There is a stillness to early morning light that I chase every chance I get, and this Bowness session was exactly why. We met the river before the rest of the city woke up, just soft gold and quiet water and a mama glowing in the last weeks before everything changes.

This is how I love to shoot. Slow, intentional, unhurried. No forced poses, just real moments given space to unfold naturally. Every session is a little different because every story deserves to be told in its own way, but mornings like this one remind me why I do this work.

Some of my favourites from his first birthday session. There’s something different about photographing a milestone for someone you love this much, I wasn’t just behind the camera that day, I was his pinni watching him take it all in: the cake, the chaos, the giggles, the whole beautiful mess of turning one.

Grateful I got to hold onto these moments forever, both as his photographer and as family.

There’s a light that only comes in late August.
Soft. Golden. Unhurried.
Like summer pausing before it lets go.

This year, I’m following that light to the sunflower fields at Bowden SunMaze, for one evening only, August 29th.

A handful of sessions. Families, couples, little ones.
Twenty quiet minutes among the blooms, guided gently.

Just you, in the last warm light of summer.

Each session includes:

• A 20-minute golden hour experience among the sunflowers
• Gentle guidance throughout, so it feels effortless, not posed
• 25 professionally edited images, in my signature soft, true-to-life style
• All original images from your session

The bloom is brief. So is this.

For a brief window this June, a private peony field just outside Calgary reaches full bloom and I’ve secured exclusive access for a very small number of golden hour sessions.
