Another iceberg along St. Anthony Bight that carried dirt along its journey from Greenland. This was likely a top piece of an ice cliff that broke off. It followed the same 2 year journey before landing here in St. Anthony Bight, and this is where it will melt.

This flat iceberg was stuck in the St. Anthony Bight, and from the dirt seen on the top, it is clear this is a surface iceberg carrying dirt from Greenland. I captured the aerial footage on a sunny day and the side photo on a boat during a cloudy day. The travel time for these icebergs are approximately 2 years and the ice itself is over 10,000 years old! Approximately 10% of the iceberg sits above the water while the rest is submerged. This iceberg will remain in the St. Anthony Bight until it melts away now.
