The fog comes walking after dark,
a whisper wrapped in white,
it drifts beneath the quiet stars
and softens every light.
It curls around the sleeping trees,
it settles on the ground,
and muffles every distant step,
until there is no sound.
And somewhere through the misty dark,
an owl begins to call—
then silence gathers once again,
and fog embraces all.
