Coquitlam River. Two hours before I took this photo I watched a bald eagle fly right up this channel looking for salmon. I later saw another bald eagle on a fallen tree also surveying the water below. Sadly I can't always have the camera handy when I see the best shots.

Sad news from the local photography scene. Fred Herzog has died. Most of the classic photos of Vancouver from the 50s on, were taken by Herzog. Thank you for your vision and inspiration. RIP.

Most of Herzog’s photographs were of Vancouver as an urban city rather than outdoor destination.
