We are so grateful to .sask and for recently collaborating with DP to facilitate our advanced training workshop for Saskatchewan camera crews. We had a very full and fun day of testing the sensor attributes of Alexa MiniLF, RED Monstro and Sony Venice cameras in a controlled lighting setup during the morning. And then diving into our mobile lens cabinet to examine the colour, character, breathing and flare signatures of modern, vintage, spherical and anamorphic lenses from over a dozen manufacturers. We will soon be sharing this lens footage library online as a free community resource.
After lunch, we set up a couple of narrative scenes to practice creative storytelling armed with our new tools and preferences. And we wrapped it all up in the screening room with a comprehensive review of our footage — what a day !
