This is easily one of my favourite pictures. Just me and my Lilla looking out at the horizon dreaming of the endless possibilities, all the adventures we’d have, the things we’d learn and all the ordinary days we’d get to share.

I lost Lilla last Friday. Today marks seven days since I last saw her, held her, petted her, brushed her, and simply spent time with her.  Seven days. And I can’t believe this is my life now.

I loved everything about Lilla. Her softness. Her strength. Her funny little ways. Her beautiful face. Her incredible spirit. I loved simply being around her.

She was my first horse, my teacher, my adventure partner, and my heart horse. She gave me a place to learn, to grow, and simply to be. I loved getting to know her exactly as she was. There was something regal about her. A quiet confidence, a certainty in herself, and an energy that made you notice when she entered a space.

Thank you for being my first horse. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for letting me into your world. Thank you for all the quiet moments, the lessons, the laughter and the love.

You fought so hard, my love. I wish more than anything you had won. Unfortunately, your body couldn’t keep up with the battle.

If I had to choose between never knowing you or holding this heartbreak forever, I would still choose you. Every. Single. Time. I love you with all my heart my Lilla girl. And I always will.

Goodbye my beautiful Lilla. You deserved a long, happy life. I’m so sorry we didn’t get more of it. 🕊️

To my clients and friends here at Fawn and Tux, I wanted to share this because Lilla was a very private part of my life, and many of you may not have known about her.

I’m still here, still caring for your animals, but I’m navigating a profound loss right now. I may be quieter than usual, take a little longer to respond, or simply not have quite as much of myself to give for a while.

I’m asking for a little patience and grace as I find my footing again. Thank you for understanding. 🤍

✨ Sneak Peek ✨

Some dogs leave paw prints on your heart. Senior dogs leave entire chapters.

Sweet Fiona, a 13-year-old Husky/Golden Retriever mix, was completely in her element surrounded by tall grass at our countryside session. Watching her run through the fields, soaking in every scent and every breeze, was a beautiful reminder to slow down and appreciate these moments.

I’ve had the privilege of spending two evenings with this incredible girl and it’s only deepened my soft spot for senior dogs. They carry such a quiet wisdom and grace.

Her human says Fiona insists on greeting everyone at a patio (and is genuinely disappointed if there aren’t enough dog lovers to meet!), and every single night ends with a “howl fest” in front of the TV, a tradition they never miss. It’s those little rituals that make the bond between a dog and their person so special.

Thank you for trusting me to preserve these memories. 💛

✨ Sneak Peek ✨

Three dogs. Three very different personalities. One beautiful spring evening.

Meet Molly, Teddy, and Shelby. 💛

From left to right 👉🏽 Molly a gentle 13.5 year-old Goldendoodle, Teddy, an adventurous 5-year-old Powder Puff Chinese Crested, and Shelby, a curious 7-year-old Sheltiepoo joined me in the countryside for a sunset session that was full of laughs, patience, and a little creativity.

Like many families, getting all three dogs to sit perfectly together proved to be quite the challenge. Every time two were in the perfect position, the third had other plans. As the sun slowly dipped lower on the horizon, we changed our approach.

Rather than forcing a moment that wasn’t happening naturally, I photographed each dog individually and carefully blended the portraits together afterward to create this final image.

The result? A portrait that feels exactly as if they were sitting side by side, while allowing each of them to shine in their own way.

If you’ve ever worried that your dog won’t sit still, won’t look at the camera, or that photographing multiple dogs is simply impossible, let this be your reminder that there’s almost always another way. Every session is tailored to your dog’s personality, and sometimes a little creativity is all it takes to create something truly special.

✨ Sneak Peek ✨

May’s Breed of the Month was the elegant, intelligent, and endlessly versatile Poodle. This session was a beautiful reminder of exactly why this breed continues to capture hearts.

Fiyero (apricot) and Oliver (black) arrived at their countryside session freshly groomed, looking every bit the polished gentlemen. Even in the quiet in-between moments when they weren’t looking at the camera, they moved with an effortless synchronicity that made it impossible not to pause and take it in.

It was also a meaningful return to this family line. I had the pleasure of photographing Georgette and Dolly many years ago, so seeing their lineage continue in Fiyero and Oliver felt like a full-circle moment in the best way.

Their human shares:
“I own both boys mother/great grand mother. I picked both out at birth as my favourites of their respective litters and got blessed to bring them home with me. Oliver is a retired show dog and active in various sports. Fiyero is an up and coming show/breeding prospect. They really exemplify their breed as friendly, lovely boys.”

If you’d like to be part of this month’s Breed of the Month, featuring the friendly and iconic Labrador Retriever 🐾
Applications are open and will be accepted until June 30th.

Meet Clover. 🖤

This adorable 2-year-old Chihuahua Terrier mix made her way to the countryside in style, arriving in a fancy black dress and sporting the most fabulous fluffy mane that looked just like a feather boa. No accessories needed when you’re already this fashionable!

Originally rescued from Texas, Clover is still learning how to “be a dog.” Each day brings something new as she gains confidence and discovers the world around her. While she absolutely knows how to use the stairs, she’d much rather be chauffeured up and down. If her human doesn’t get the hint, Clover has no problem making her demands known with a few well-timed barks!

From her adorable personality to her striking good looks, Clover was an absolute delight to photograph.

✨ Sneak Peek ✨

Some faces are just impossible to forget... and Wrigley is definitely one of them.

You might remember this handsome boy from our lake session last fall, but this time we changed things up for his March Breed of the Month session celebrating Bully Breeds. Nestled among a beautiful mix of trees and shrubs, Wrigley took his place on the stone steps and, as always, made himself right at home in front of the camera.

Wrigley is such a wonderful model to work with, and narrowing it down to just one sneak peek was no easy task. He made every frame look effortless with that sweet expression and striking good looks.

I can’t wait to share more from this session. For now, enjoy this little preview of one very handsome boy. 🐾✨

🐾 Breed of the Month: Labrador Retrievers

Whether they're diving into the lake, carrying around a favourite toy, or convincing you they haven't been fed in at least 47 days, Labs have a way of stealing hearts everywhere they go.

✨ Fun Fact: Labrador Retrievers were originally bred to work alongside fishermen, and their webbed feet and famous "otter tails" make them incredible swimmers! Their love of water is literally in their DNA.

If you have a black, yellow, or chocolate Lab and would love to celebrate everything that makes them special, now's your chance!

Applications for our June Breed of the Month are officially open. 📸

Meet Bella. 🖤

This beautiful 2-year-old Great Dane met me at our Countryside location for her photo session... with not one, not two, but 12 ducklings in tow. Needless to say, the ducklings ended up stealing a few moments in front of the camera too!

Despite the relentless bugs trying their best to crash the party, we were treated to beautiful weather and plenty of laughs.

When Bella’s family went to choose a puppy from her litter, Bella made the decision for them. She went straight to their daughter, showered her with kisses, and refused to leave her side. From that moment on, she had chosen her human and her family.

Some dogs find their families. Others make sure there’s no question about who they’re meant to be with. Bella was definitely the one doing the choosing.

The last photo in our sneak peek… ✨

A quiet little moment to close a golden evening with my girl.

This whole experience has felt like a collection of small chapters, each image holding its own feeling, its own piece of the story. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of looking back at moments like this with her.

There’s something so grounding about standing with a horse in silence… feeling their breath, matching their stillness, and just being present in a way that feels almost unspoken.

Thank you for following along through this little series 💙

✨ Sneak Peek ✨

I’m not usually one for photos - and definitely not one for looking into the camera! But I’m so thankful we captured this because honestly… I don’t know when I would ever do something like this again.

I saw something the other day that said, “Show me your camera roll and I’ll tell you what you’re most afraid of losing.” Mine is full of animals. The everyday moments. The funny things they do. The quiet moments that somehow become everything.

Standing here with Lilla, the setting sun behind us, hearing her breathe and simply existing in that moment together - it reminded me why I do this.

Hi, I’m Reanna, photographer, animal lover, and the person behind Fawn & Tux. With a background working with animals and years spent helping people build connections with their four-legged companions, capturing these relationships means everything to me. Because they’re never “just animals.” They’re family. They’re chapters of our lives.

This image and this experience will stay with me forever 🧡

Ethereal Equine Sessions are now open for June, July & August. If creating something like this with your own horse speaks to you, send me a DM or visit fawnandtux.com to learn more and reserve your session at an introductory rate.
