❤️ THE ONE MORE PHOTO PROJECT | SEPTEMBER ❤️
This one is going to stay with me for a very, very long time.
When I first announced The One More Photo Project, I had no idea just how much the very first session would mean to me personally.
Meet Megan, her mom Sharon, and her grandma Barbara. Three generations of beautiful women who allowed me to step into a very personal chapter of their lives and capture some memories together. ❤️
Barbara is living with dementia.
And if you've ever loved someone with dementia, you know just how heartbreaking and complicated that journey can be.
My own great-grandmother had dementia, and while photographing these three ladies, I couldn't help but see pieces of her in Barbara. The little expressions, the moments, the way her family interacted with her. It brought back so many memories of my own.
And it reminded me exactly why I started this project.
Because sometimes we don't realize how badly we need a photograph until we wish we had taken one more.
One more photo with Grandma.
One more photo of Mom holding her mom's hand.
One more photo of three generations together.
I stayed up late editing this gallery because I wanted Megan, Sharon, and Barbara to have their photographs as soon as I possibly could. Not because I had a deadline, but because I know how precious these moments are, and I wanted this family to have these memories to hold onto for as long as possible.
To Megan and Sharon, thank you. Truly. Thank you for allowing me into such a vulnerable part of your lives, for trusting me with these moments, and for reminding me just how important the work I get to do really is.
And to Barbara, thank you for spending that time with me. You reminded me of someone I loved very much, and I don't think I'll ever forget that. ❤️
I didn't start The One More Photo Project to create perfect pictures.
I started it because one day, these might be the photographs someone holds a little tighter. The ones they frame, the ones they show their children, the ones they look back on when they're missing someone.
And if I can give even one family that kind of memory, then this project is already everything I hoped it would be.
September's One More Photo Project will forever hold a special place in my heart. ❤️
Thank you for letting me tell a little piece of your story.
