In a world full of cute ghosts, go be a Micheal! Happy Samhain 🎃

Samhain: The roots trace back over 2,000 years to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain in Ireland and Britain, which marked the end of the harvest and the start of winter. 🎄 HOLIDAY MINIS ARE BACK! 🎄

Is it Halloween yet? No.
Am I still editing Fall Galleries? Yes.
Is it too early to be talking about Christmas? Debatable. 😂

But considering we’ve had snow yesterday AND today, I feel like talking about Christmas is completely justified.

So here we are!

The stock trailer is getting the year off! This year we’re swapping it out for a hay bale backdrop with some western Christmas decor.

Ditched editing for the day to take my girls to a barrel race. I didn’t advertise for fall photos, but I kept busy with them. So if you chose me to take 📸 this fall, thank you 🤎 I could sneak in a couple more, so if you want to come hang out with me at the most beautiful spot - shoot me a message!

A walk with family … but also the absence of someone who should have been there.

A father, a brother, an uncle, and someone deeply loved.

They brought his birth flowers along to their session. A quiet, meaningful way of including him in the memories being made, even though he could no longer be there in person.

And I think that’s what stayed with me most about this session. The way a family can carry both love and grief, finding moments to smile while still making space for the person they’re missing.

Family photographs aren’t always about perfect smiles or everyone looking at the camera. Sometimes they’re about holding onto what matters, remembering those we love, and documenting the people who continue to show up for one another.

It was a privilege to capture this family and the love that continues to connect them. 🤎
