•Thai Temples•

What amazed me about Chiang Mai was that you would be walking through the city, exploring, when BOOM, you’d run into an ancient temple towering above you, shining down on you like a second sun. The size and detail of these temples were like nothing else I’d ever seen. To the locals these are so normal, but to us they were some of the most incredible buildings we’d ever seen. I wonder how many amazing places in ours home towns we take for granted because we are simply “normal” to us? @ Wat Phra Sing

•Elephants: Part II•

This was definitely one of the most unreal experiences I had in Asia. Being this up close and personal with these gentle giants was absolutely incredible. Most of the elephants we spent time with were rescued from circuses and sanctuaries with poor living conditions. We walked down a dirt road with them until we reached a river where we bathed and swam with them. My immediate reaction was fear, just out of sheer reaction to their size, but as we spent more time with them I realized how smart and kind these huge animals truly are. @ Happy elephant home

•In all seriousness, this village was incredible. A river ran through it, leading up to this incredible waterfall. There were water mills lining the river, along with hammocks for people to relax on•

•I’ve been dreaming of visiting this magical place for years. During the day we kayaked, cave spelunked, and swam in a beautiful cove all to ourselves. At night, we laid on top of our boat, drank cocktails, and basked in the beauty around us. What a trip this one was!• @ Halong Bay, Vietnam

•Hanoi Train Street•

This may have been one of the most unique places I’ve been so far in Vietnam. Restaurants and bars surrounded the train tracks. We sat within feet of the tracks, drank beers and enjoyed some mini spring rolls. Mid sip I was being pulled off of my chair and rushed to the other side of the tracks. The restaurant owners quickly folded the chairs we were sitting on and moved everything out of the way of the train. Within seconds a train came whizzing by, within arms reach! After the train passed, the chairs and tables were placed back on the other side of the tracks and we resumed eating and drinking. This occurred every 15 min!
