June 1st, 2013 was a night I’ll never forget.

It was a busy night at work and I finished all my duties early so I could leave work 15 minutes early to get run home and change and so I could shoot from 11pm until 4am because the sky started to get bright.
It was a warm night because I was shooting the northern lights in flip flops!

I had dreamed of catching the northern lights over Mt. Rundle for years and it finally happened that night. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to capture the strong displays of lights a few times over Rundle like this. But this will always be my favourite.

I am starting to get excited for summer sunrises here in the Canadian Rockies.

Just got back from a wonderful couple days down in Waterton. This was a special trip because I got to see some fresh new born moose babies take their first steps. It was incredibly adorable!

I have so many more photos of this experience but for now here is these moose puppies probably 8-9 hours old. (I know they are called calves but I really feel like puppies is also fitting because they are so cute) lol

This was shot on the Canon 200-800 at 742mm.

I like to look back at some of my older night photography photos. I feel like I should shoot come star trails again this year. I’ve really missed making those.

My trick to star trails is I watch Die Hard while shooting. It’s exactly 2 hours and that gets a great amount of spin in the sky.
