One of my favourite parts of photographing families year after year is that eventually, the kids start taking over the session. 😂🤍

They remember the photos we did last time. They want to recreate their favourites. They have NEW ideas we absolutely have to try. And, of course, I need to see how much better they’ve gotten at climbing that tree since last year.

And I love every second of it.

Because tucked in between all the silly photos, tree climbing and “WAIT! I have an idea!” moments are these little reminders of just how quickly they’re growing.

Getting to come back year after year and watch these families change, while keeping some of the same little traditions along the way, is such a special part of this job.

The posed ones are beautiful… but the ones the kids dream up themselves? Those might just be my favourites. 🥹

Everybody squeeze in. Someone’s giggling. Someone’s trying to escape. Mom and Dad are just holding the whole operation together. 😂

And somehow, right in the middle of all of it, you get this.

The kind of photo that feels like your family instead of just looking like your family.

There’s something pretty special about this one. 🥹📸

My daughter came along to Bill & Bonnie’s wedding with my very first camera in her hands and officially helped me second shoot for the day.

Watching her wander around, finding the things she thought were worth capturing, was probably one of my favourite parts of the whole wedding. No instructions on what a “good” photo should be — just her, a camera, and whatever caught her eye.

And now I genuinely cannot WAIT to upload that card and see the day from her perspective. 🥹

Photography has given me so much over the years, but getting to hand her the camera that helped start it all and watch her begin to find her own way behind it?

Yeah… that one got me. 🤍📸

Maybe I’ve got myself a future second shooter after all. 😉

And that’s a wrap on Bill & Bonnie. 🤠🤍

I knew today was going to be special, but I don’t think I was prepared for just how much FUN it would be.

The kind of wedding where the love was obvious, the laughs were constant, and once that dance floor opened up… nobody held back. 😂🔥 Easily some of the best dance floor action I’ve had the privilege of photographing.

And getting to capture all of it for someone who once stood beside me on my own wedding day made this one hit a little differently. Full-circle moments like this are pretty damn special.

Bill & Bonnie, you two know how to throw a wedding. 🥹🤍

Now I’m heading home with full memory cards, tired feet, and approximately 700 photos of people absolutely sending it on the dance floor. 😂

 It’s wedding day for Bill & Bonnie! 🤍

And this one feels a little extra special.

Bonnie has been a dear friend of mine for a long time. She stood beside me on my own wedding day, and now, all these years later, I get to be the one standing behind the camera documenting hers. 🥹

There’s something pretty incredible about getting to witness the people you love move through different chapters of life — and an even bigger honour to be trusted to preserve one of the biggest ones.

Almost time to load up the gear, hit the road, and go watch my beautiful friend marry her person. 🤍

I was looking back through some of my old behind-the-scenes videos and realized I never shared this little gem. 🥹

Because this is what a wedding day looks like through my camera.

One moment, she’s walking down the aisle — and within those few seconds, there are so many little stories happening all around her.

The nerves. The deep breaths.
Dad beside her.
The way her groom looks at her.
Mom wiping away a tear.
The reactions from the people who love them most.
The tiny glances and emotions that could so easily be missed.

The video shows the moment happening… but the final gallery lets you go back and see everything that was happening within it. 🤍

And I think that might be one of my favourite parts of photographing weddings — freezing all of those little pieces of a moment you were too busy living to notice. 🥹📸

A little glimpse into Chay & Brandin’s wedding day. 🤍
And by “little glimpse”… I mean 40+ photos because apparently I have absolutely no ability to narrow down a wedding day this good. 😂
There were just too many moments — the emotional ones, the beautiful ones, the hilarious ones, the slightly chaotic ones, and all those little in-between pieces that make a wedding day theirs.
So consider this less of a sneak peek and more of a “I couldn’t choose, so here’s basically a small novel” situation. 😂🤍

I’m still obsessed with this lake engagement session. 😍

The glassy water. The softest sunset. The paddleboard. The chemistry. And the fact that these two were completely willing to get soaked for the shot. 😂🔥

This is your reminder that engagement photos absolutely do not have to mean standing in a field smiling at the camera.

Bring me the ideas that feel like you. Bring the paddleboard. Jump in the lake. Get a little weird. Get a little steamy. Make a date out of it.

Because THIS is the kind of session I could photograph over and over again. 🖤🌊
