New Windsor Business Emerges Near Gordie Howe International Bridge
A new Windsor business is drawing attention in the city's west end. Located in the late afternoon shadows of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, CTC Concrete Inc. has been linked through corporate records and business addresses to properties owned by the Canadian Transit Company, with a member of the Moroun family identified as a director.
Moroun Family Expands Beyond Bridge Operations
The Moroun family, owners of the Ambassador Bridge, built its fortune through trucking, freight, and logistics companies, including Central Transport and Universal Logistics Holdings. Today, the family maintains significant transportation and land holdings throughout the Windsor-Detroit corridor.
CTC Concrete appears to be one of the family's first major industrial investments in Windsor outside of bridge-related operations. Ontario environmental approvals issued in 2025 outline plans for a concrete batching facility, with emissions assessments covering materials commonly associated with ready-mix concrete production.
A Strategic Windsor Location
While the Gordie Howe International Bridge is expected to reshape cross-border traffic, the Ambassador Bridge is likely to remain a major freight route. Given the Moroun family's extensive trucking and logistics interests, investments such as CTC Concrete may reflect a broader strategy to strengthen their presence in Windsor's industrial and transportation sectors.
As development continues, CTC Concrete is emerging as a notable addition to Windsor's growing industrial landscape.
