A little peek into this sweet Saturday in the GlebešŸ¤

These two got married tucked into all the greenery of Central Park, with the prettiest willow tree doing its thing in the background (truly could not have asked for better texture šŸ˜).

And then Ottawa gave us a FULL burst of rain during group portraits. ā˜”ļø

We already had a location change planned for their newlywed portraits, and somehow the timing worked out perfectly. By the time we drove over, pulled up, and stepped out of the car? The rain had completely stopped. šŸ™ŒšŸ»

Major’s Hill Park was practically empty, everything felt fresh from the rain, and we got to wander around Chateau Laurier + the park like Ottawa had cleared the place out just for them.

Then it was back to the Glebe for dinner and celebrating at G i a šŸ¤

Just a really, really sweet day. And I’ll have approximately a million more favorites to share once their gallery is complete!

Things that feel richer than a 6 figure salary āž”ļø
(In no particular order)

ā˜€ļøSunsets.

The way a colourful sky can stop you in your tracks for a few minutes. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching a blue sky turn into something so beautiful.

ā³Quality time with my husband & family

At the end of the day, they’re the reason behind so many of my goals. Nothing beats uninterrupted time together.

🌸Freshly bloomed wild flowers.

The tiny things that make you slow down for a second and smile.

šŸŽGood Health.

It’s so easy to take for granted until it’s something you have to fight for. Every time my bloodwork comes back looking good, it feels like a little gift I never want to stop appreciating.

ā˜•ļøCatching up with friends over coffee or tea.

A couple of hours somehow disappear when the conversation is good.

šŸ’†ā€ā™€ļøMaking time to recover.

I’ve learned that rest isn’t wasted time. It helps me show up better in every other part of my life.

šŸŖHomemade baked goods.

Simple ingredients, fresh out of the oven, and that cozy feeling that makes the house feel even more like home.

šŸ›ļøA freshly made bed and a tidy home.

It’s amazing how much lighter my mind feels when my space feels calm too.

šŸ‘©ā€šŸ’»Time away from a screen.

Considering how much of my work happens behind one, stepping away always reminds me how much life is happening in front of me.

šŸ“·Getting to photograph joyful, in-love couples in beautiful places.

There are still moments where I stop and think, I can’t believe this gets to be my job.

šŸ“–Reading before bed with Spike curled up beside me.

The perfect way to slow down before drifting off to sleep.

šŸ¤—Exploring somewhere new.

Whether it’s close to home or halfway around the world, I love finding places that make me stop and take it all in.

🐚Finding little treasures.

Whether it’s a seashell or something unexpected, I love those moments when I slow down enough to discover the tiny things I would have walked right past if I was in a rush.

šŸƒšŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøā€āž”ļøBeing able to move my body.

Something I never think of as ā€œlittleā€ anymore. If you’ve ever gone through a season where your body couldn’t do what you wanted it to, you know what a gift an ordinary walk can feel like.

The older I get, the the more I think a rich life has less to do with numbers and more to do with moments.

What’s one thing that makes you feel rich?

How the heck has it been one whole year already since one of the most incredible days of our lives?!?

I absolutely love doing life with you Haydon Devlin , thank you for making me laugh daily, reminding me it’s okay to rest when needed, encouraging and supporting me on any ideas and adventures I dream up, making sure I eat good food often (even with all my crazy restrictions), coming with me on little trips to the store (and letting me be passenger princess), walking with spike and I even when your tired after work, understanding when work gets busy and I have to spend a bit more time behind a screen daily, and so so so much more. There’s so many things you intentionally do day to day to make sure spike and I are happy, I’m incredibly lucky to call you my husband.

Happy one year wedding anniversary to us ā¤ļø

I absolutely love when couples personalize their engagement sessions. šŸ¤

Whether it’s choosing a location that means something to you, like how these two had their session on their family farm (with water access too... truly the best of both worlds).

Or incorporating an activity you genuinely love, like hopping into a canoe for part of your session. It’s something they often do when they’re visiting the farm, and even though the wind decided to make things extra interesting, it was 100% worth it.

Or including your furry family members, because of course Tato had to make an appearance! 🐾

The little details that make your relationship yours are always the things that make your photos feel the most meaningful years down the road.

And as if this session couldn’t get any better, we were treated to the dreamiest cotton candy cloudy sunset over the fields to wrap up the evening. It was the perfect ending to such a fun session!

P.S. As of this morning, every June wedding and session has officially been delivered! 🄹 I’m now diving into my July galleries, and I can’t wait to keep sharing what we’ve been creating this summer!

Just hit send on this beautiful gallery from this intimate end of May wedding!

There’s something so special about delivering a gallery and knowing a couple is about to relive one of the best days of their lives all over again. I can’t wait for these two to dive into these memories.

I’ve been deep in the editing cave during office hours lately, and with this final May gallery officially delivered, it’s time to turn my attention back to all of my June weddings and sessions. šŸ‘€

After a busy stretch, I’m actually looking forward to a wedding-free weekend this coming weekend. A little breathing room in the calendar goes a long way this time of year and helps me stay on top of editing!

Something I’ve been wrestling with lately:

I don’t want to care less about my work. I love my work. I love having goals. I love building something meaningful.

The challenge is learning how to care deeply about my work without constantly putting myself last.

For a long time, I treated taking care of myself like something that happened after the important stuff was done. After the emails, the editing, and crossing a few more things off my to-do list.

But what I’m trying to consistently remind myself is that taking care of myself is also part of the important stuff.

Because prioritizing my health isn’t taking away from my work. It’s what allows me to keep showing up for my clients, my business, and the goals I’m working toward.

It’s a mindset shift that feels obvious when I say it out loud but in practice, it’s one I still have to come back to again and again.

Is anyone else like this?!?
