Mother’s Day to me is like a porch light left on.
And by that I mean there are people out here doing some of the hardest, most invisible work imaginable — loving, surviving, carrying, healing, parenting, grieving, showing up over and over again — and they deserve to feel seen.
I think about the exhausted moms, the postpartum moms, the single moms, the grieving moms, the moms who carry babies in their arms and the moms who carry babies only in their hearts, the almost-moms, the stepmoms, the foster moms, the trans and nonbinary parents, and the people quietly holding entire families together while barely being held themselves.
Mother’s Day reminds me why I care so deeply about this work and why I’m so committed to supporting, educating, and advocating for parents through every version of motherhood and postpartum — including the parts people don’t talk about enough. The identity shifts. The loneliness. The overwhelm. The healing. The mental health struggles like PPD and PMDD. The pressure to hold it all together while learning an entirely new version of yourself.
I want people to feel informed, supported, validated, and deeply cared for — not just when things are easy, but especially when they’re hard. I want people to know they do not have to earn support by “struggling enough.” They deserve care simply because they are human.
The world asks so much of caregivers.
I just want to be part of making sure someone leaves the light on for them, too. ✨

This beautiful babe and her big sister came to have photos yesterday. It's wild that SEVEN years ago, I photographed big sister, and since then, we lived through a pandemic and I got an entire degree. Time is the weirdest thing.
