When this beautiful couple got engaged, she told me she had always dreamed of having horses in her engagement photos.

A huge thank you to my wonderful friend Julie Clemens for sharing her horse with us and helping arrange additional horses for the session. The horse featured in these images isn’t Julie’s, but thanks to her generosity and connections, we were able to bring this dream to life. Swipe to see Julie’s beautiful horse!

Congratulations to this amazing couple on your engagement. I am so honoured that I had the opportunity to be part of such a special chapter in your story.

May your love continue to grow with every adventure, every challenge, and every beautiful moment you share together. Wishing you a lifetime of laughter, happiness, and unforgettable memories.

Meet Aylah

Aylah lived through an abusive relationship most of us can’t imagine surviving. But she did more than survive. She found the strength to leave, to break the cycle, and to build a safe life for herself and her children. That decision, the one to walk away and never look back, took more courage than most people will ever have to find in a lifetime.

When Aylah asked to be part of the Legacy in Light Portrait Experience, she wasn’t just asking for photos. She was reclaiming a piece of herself that abuse tried to take away. She wanted to be seen safely, and on her own terms.

Aylah, I’m honoured you trusted me with even a piece of your story. Your strength doesn’t need a name to be felt.

If you or someone you love is in an abusive relationship, please know help is available and you are not alone.

Meet Sheila.

Some stories start with struggle. Sheila’s did: a childhood marked by tragedy that could have defined the rest of her life. For years, she carried that weight, both emotionally and physically, unsure how to move forward.

But Sheila made a decision. She took control. Step by step, rep by rep, she rebuilt herself...not just her body, but her belief in what she was capable of. Today, she co-owns and runs a gym with her daughter, showing other women what strength actually looks like. She trains hard, builds muscle, and stands taller than she ever has.

When Sheila stepped in front of my camera, what I saw wasn’t just a woman who works out. I saw a woman who fought for her life back and won.

Sheila, thank you for trusting me with your story. Your strength is inspiring, and this is only the beginning.

Meet Shelly, one of the women who said yes to the Legacy in Light portrait experience, where every woman writes a chapter of the book sharing her story in her own words.

And Shelly’s story is about becoming.

Not who she was. Not who someone else needed her to be. But who she is still in the process of growing into. The beautiful, unfinished, ever evolving version of herself that she is showing up for every single day.

Shelly understands that every twist, every detour, every hard season and every unexpected turn was all part of the becoming. None of it was wasted. All of it was necessary.

Walking into my studio she brought that energy with her and it is impossible not to feel it when you look at her portraits. There is a woman who is fully awake to her own life. Fully present. Fully committed to who she is still becoming.

Meet Laurie, one of the most generous hearted women I have ever had the privilege of photographing for the Legacy in Light portrait experience, where every woman writes a chapter of the book sharing her story in her own words.

And Laurie’s chapter is going to warm your soul.

Her story is about following your instincts into the unknown and trusting that something beautiful is waiting on the other side. Laurie has lived her entire life that way, and everywhere she has landed she has made an impact. Every community she has been a part of has been made better because she showed up in it.

But what she is doing now might be my favourite thing about her.

Laurie volunteers at senior homes putting on fashion shows for the women who live there. Showing them that they are beautiful. That they are seen. That they matter. That joy and beauty and feeling like yourself does not have an expiry date.

I got emotional just hearing about it.

In a world where so many people talk about giving back, Laurie just quietly does it. And the women whose lives she is touching because of it are forever changed.

She is not just a gift to this book. She is a gift to every single person she encounters. 🖤

I cannot wait for you to read her story alongside all 20 of these extraordinary women.

Meet Sheryl, one of the breathtaking women who said yes to the Legacy in Light portrait experience, where every woman writes a chapter of the book sharing her story in her own words.

And Sheryl’s chapter is going to inspire you.

After over 40 years of building a successful career, doing the right things, checking all the boxes and being everything to everyone, she felt something shift. A calling that was bigger than her. A pull toward something she had been quietly setting aside for decades.

So she did the thing that most people only dream about.

She walked away from her corporate career and finally followed her passion.

But Sheryl’s story is not just about a career change. It is about a woman who spent a lifetime pouring herself into her work, her family, her loved ones and everything and everyone around her, and finally made the decision to put herself first.

When she walked into my studio I saw a woman who was completely alive. Lit up from the inside. The kind of energy that fills a room when someone is finally living in alignment with who they actually are.

Her portraits are powerful.

And her chapter in this book is going to give every woman permission to finally listen to that voice inside of her that has been whispering her whole life. 🖤

I cannot wait for you to read her story alongside all 20 of these extraordinary women.

Meet Donna, one of the most powerfully grounded women I have had the honour of photographing for the Legacy in Light portrait experience, where every woman writes a chapter of the book sharing her story in her own words.

And Donna’s chapter is one that is going to stop you in your tracks.

Her story is about refusing to accept a life where you feel trapped. Where you are not loved the way you deserve to be loved. Where you are waiting for someone else to finally make you feel whole.

Because here is what Donna figured out and what she wants every woman reading her chapter to know.

No one is coming to save you. And that is actually the most liberating thing you will ever realize.

Happiness is not something someone else can hand you. It is something you build. Something you choose. Something you create for yourself when you finally decide that you are worth it.

Donna made that decision and watching her in front of my camera was one of those moments I will never forget. She was radiant. She was free. She was completely and totally herself.

That is what choosing yourself looks like. And her portraits show every single bit of it. 🖤

I cannot wait for you to read her story alongside all 20 of these extraordinary women.

Meet JulieAnn, another one of the remarkable women who said yes to the Legacy in Light portrait experience, where every woman writes a chapter of the book sharing her story in her own words.

And JulieAnn’s chapter is going to hit different.

Her story is about coming out the other side. The kind of resilience and strength that you can’t fake and you can’t rush. The kind that only comes from actually living through it, surviving it, and choosing to rise anyway.

When she walked into my studio I could feel it. That quiet power that lives in a woman who has been through the fire and come out stronger than she went in.

Her portraits reflect every single bit of that.

This is exactly the kind of story that Legacy in Light was created to hold space for. Because so many women are in the middle of their hard right now and they need to see what coming out the other side actually looks like.

JulieAnn is that reminder. 🖤

I cannot wait for you to read her story alongside all 20 of these extraordinary women.

Meet Nancy, another incredible woman who said yes to the Legacy in Light portrait experience, where every woman writes a chapter of the book sharing her story in her own words.
Nancy's story is one that so many of us need to hear.
She is proof that starting over later in life isn't something to be afraid of. It's something to be celebrated. She stepped in front of my camera with so much confidence and passion that it honestly took my breath away.
Her chapter in this book is going to speak directly to every woman who has ever wondered if it's too late for her. If she has missed her window. If her best years are somehow behind her.
They are not.
Nancy is living proof of that and her portraits show every single bit of it.
This is what Legacy in Light is all about. Twenty women. Twenty stories. Twenty chapters that are going to change the way you see yourself and what is possible for you.
I cannot wait for you to read hers. 🖤
