Some sessions mean a little more to me than others…

Today I had the privilege of photographing my cousin’s beautiful daughter, and it reminded me why I picked up a camera in the first place.

When my mom passed away, I realized how precious photos truly are. At the time, I wanted to give my sister beautiful memories she could hold onto forever, but professional photography wasn’t something I could afford. So I taught myself. I spent countless hours learning, practicing, and figuring it out because I never wanted the people I loved to miss out on having those moments preserved for them.

Now, every time I pick up my camera, it’s about so much more than taking pictures.

It’s about freezing a smile, capturing a laugh, documenting a season of life that will never come again. It’s about remembering family history, stilling the memories, and the little moments that someday become the most valuable things we own.

After losing my mom, then my sister and her spouse becoming pregnant shockingly right after I learned that photos become treasures. They tell stories. They keep memories alive. They become something we pass down long after we’re gone.

That’s why I love what I do. I love capturing my family’s smiles, and I love doing the same for yours.

So let this be your sign: Book the photos. Get in the frame. Capture the memories.

Because one day, those photographs may become some of the most cherished things your family has left 💜
