Do you sometimes regret for a second using b-w film and wish you had a roll of color film loaded instead that better suites the scene or subject you're shooting? The technologies are developing at a great pace nowadays and the things that where done tiredly and manually yesterday are done in a second by AI today. I tried recently colourise.sg online service powered by deep learning tools to find out how my portraits might look like in color. The result is generally ok for me, I really like washed out and faded mood. If the darks turn out too bright, just make a layer in Photoshop in color mode over your original b-w image. Two portraits of a very famous and gifted Belarusian rap singer Seryoga Seryoga I made 15 years ago for his debut album. As far as I can recall I used Mamiya C330 and black-and-white Svema film. Now he has a new project Polygraph SharikOFF Полиграф ШарикOFF performing really cool stuff with great lyrics, many of Seryoga's music videos are available on YouTube http://kladoff.net

I met these girl riding a bicycle around an old wooden house (in the background) that is not there anymore. Sometimes I'm asked why the children on my photos are not smiling. As I always try to be on the positive side of life, laughter and joy are not very expressive and strong tools to reveal one's character and open up personality for me. Do you really think the children should always express joy and happiness to make it a good portrait?
