Drew Sproule - Fine Art Nature Photography The wild isn’t lost… it’s waiting! Fine art photo artist and safari host
Africa • long-term stories • conservation-led
Limited-edition prints

Drew Sproule is a storyteller above all else and uses his photographs to share an account of his experiences as well as to inform, educate and inspire. He has made a career of creating visually engaging fine art photographs. He is a self-confessed perfectionist and animal lover, and when not travelling, he bases himself in the rolling hills of Somerset in the UK. As a professional photographer, he

has travelled the globe, and as an advocate for the preservation of the world’s threatened habitats and vanishing species, and he uses his photographs to educate and inform. He is extremely passionate about all things Africa and Asia and counts himself fortunate to have travelled extensively in both continents. He believes that the years of in-the-field and on-location experience have given him an invaluable and comprehensive insight and understanding of animal behaviour. It’s this knowledge that allows him to extract the best out of opportunities while on location. He has a wealth of tour operator experience having forged a successful career at a senior level for some of the most recognisable global travel brands, most notably Virgin, Flight Centre, TUI and QANTAS. He is the founder of the Wear4Wild initiative which was set up as a way to directly give back to the incredible wildlife conservation organisations that I’ve met in the field and that work tirelessly on the ground to ensure the continued protection of the world’s iconic species and ecosystems for all of our futures.

Harsh midday sun, shadows where you don’t want them, contrast doing its own thing. But does it really matter?

This newly formed coalition of three young males in the Xudum Concession are still trying to figure things out and where they fit in the bigger picture. You can see it in the way they observe and move. Not quite dominant, but not far off either. Testing, scent-marking and pushing boundaries.

In lion society, nothing is handed to you. Everything must be earned.

OK, the light wasn’t perfect. But the moment was. And that’s the bit that stays with me.

The Xudum concession in the Okavango Delta boasts the third highest density of leopards recorded anywhere in Africa, so a chance of a sighting is very good indeed, although never guaranteed of course, but when you do - it’s always very special 🐆

Botswana for this year is sold out, however I’m back in Botswana Sep/Oct 2027 to host another dedicated photo safari to Chobe, Savuti, Okavango Delta and the Kalahari and I’d love you to join me! 🦁🐘🐆🦛

For details, DM me, or or comment BOTSWANA below to receive the full itinerary! Spaces are limited.

Join me for an exclusive Kenya photo safari from Jun 24 – Jul 1, 2026: See full itinerary: bit.ly/3P4YBKW

Ready for the ultimate African photography adventure? From Shompole to Amboseli, and I are hosting an 8-day photographic safari in Kenya for just 4 guests.

What makes this trip different?

📸 World-class wildlife photography opportunities with elephants, big cats, birds and more
🦁 On-location photographic guidance to elevate your images in the field
🖥️ Editing tuition between game drives to help you get the most out of every shot
🏕️ A truly immersive, front-row experience
🚙 Intimate safari with expert local guides for in-depth animal behaviour insights
🌅 Unforgettable water/ground-level photography
👥 Small group size = personalised attention and a close-knit, creative atmosphere

For me, safaris in Kenya are more than just about the photographs, they’re a chance to ground yourself in the rhythms of the wild. Out there, watching elephants move across the dry riverbeds or lions drinking at night, you reconnect with something raw and timeless.

“Curiosity”

For all the drama of their horns, Highland cattle are remarkably calm... and often quietly inquisitive. This black-coated individual proved that within moments of meeting.

We crossed paths on Exmoor in conditions that tested resolve: strong winds, driving rain, and very little shelter. While I battled the weather (and lost), he stood unfazed, watching with steady interest, as if the storm barely registered.

Still drying out hours later, I was left with a renewed respect for just how well adapted these animals are to this landscape.
