One of my unexpected highlights of my Botswana safari was the pelicans. We came across this group and not only was i astounded by the number of them, but also the display they put on. They all followed each other politely in a queue and then as one big co-ordinated group they dove down all together for fish, it was amazing!

*Another warning* More gross but cool stuff!

Another highlight of our safari was witnessing this pride of lions, a mother and adolescent males, feast on a wildebeest she'd just caught. When we first arrived, they were in an absolute frenzy pulling it apart and getting their favoured pieces, resulting in some fighting and a noisy game of tug. The mother got the best bit of all of course, and whilst it was quite disgusting hearing her lick it and crunch on it, it was also quite amazing!

*warning* Swipe for some kinda gross but very cool shots of nature in the wild...and puppies!

The wild dogs were up there on our list of animals we wanted to try and see because they're quite rare and we were lucky enough to spot some in Moremi and actually drive alongside them running, which was very cool. Then, we got a call on the radio that they'd caught something! Our guide 'put foot' and we were so lucky to see a pack feeding on an impala (not so lucky for the impala unfortunately). And then to top it off, out came a load of squeaking puppies to join in! It was amazing to see them thriving and a real highlight of the safari.

A little bit of cuteness to grace your feed this Monday morning!

Dare I say it, we'd actually got a little bored of lions on our trip, we'd seen so many! So on our last game drive when our guide wanted to drive past a lone female one more time we weren't really that fussed, but then out popped these adorable 2-week old cubs! We watched them as they fed on milk from their mum, getting chucked about every time she rolled over 🤣

This yellow-billed stork took SO long to swallow its catch, it nearly lost it to the croc! We watched this crocodile sneak up and lunge at the stork several times, until finally it went down the hatch.
