A cloudy weekend with streams of soft breezes 🌬️ 🍃 was the perfect setting for a refreshing hike up the mystic and revered Kgope Hill 🏔️🥾

We, this weekend, joined Mareletsane Youth Group of Kgope Village in their therapeutic bushwalk & hike up the Kgope hill in Kgope Village under the Kweneng District,Botswana.

Joining the masses on the challenge was the area Member of Parliament (MP) Rre Tshenolo Bogatsu , Village Councillor Rre Molefe, Village Chief Mme Victoria Mokgalo le BoMonnawe, Village Development Committee, Kgope Primary School with the Chief Walker of the day being the Queen of Miss Botswana 2026 Ms. Magdeline Angel Modipane and with Moruti Neo Manthe as the Lead-guide.

This walk and hike was organized by the energetic youth of Kgope to raise funds for the Kgope Primary School learners, preparing them especially for their upcoming primary school leaving exams.

In support of the event was Miss World Botswana Organization, BIUST Hiking Club , Lesoso Explorers, Motswakhumo Classic and Botswana Prison Service.

Kudo's to Mareletsane Youth Group for this well organized event and on unlocking a new trail👏🏾👏🏾

We this past weekend, honoured the invitation by the The Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation for their 2nd Annual Provincial Hiking Day in Klein Marico, South Africa🇧🇼🇿🇦

A weekend away escapade that saw local and international hikers and campers meet for traversing the beautiful undulating terrain of Klein Marico and nights of refreshing moments🧘🏾❤️

To the organizers,stakeholders and outdoor lovers; you made this weekend a memorable one, we appreciate meeting every single one of you bush lovers! 🙏🏾

GOLDEN-HOUR SHOTS AND SILHOUETTES FROM THE ANCIENT MAKGADIKGADI LAKE 🏜️❤️

Wandering around the vast, salty nothingness of Makgakgadi Pans fills your mind with so much awe you end up appreciating the creativity of the Creator 🤯🙌🏾

For as far as the eye can see,lies nothing but bare 🪾 patches of land, some filled with water while others are waiting to erupt into a rumbling sandstorm that can come as a shock to an outsider. Flamingoes, Seagulls and African Spoonbills 🐦 rule the airspace here but not better than the giant mosquitoes of this area😅🙌🏾, a different post is needed for the mosquitoes‼️

With little time left for us here,we can only wish for more greater photographic moments🤘🏾

A master of stealth, armed with a dart for a beak and beautiful piercing eyes that could deceive it's prey 🐟🦗

THE LAST HIKE OF 2025 THAT NEVER HAPPENED....😅🤦

With weeks of planning and gathering the courage to conquer the Goo Moremi Gorges once again, nature proved to be in control and stopped us in our tracks on what was supposed to be a memorable year end hike!😅

The Lotsane River started heavily flooding on Christmas Eve, shutting down our hopes of being one with the Tswapong Hills. This was due the Serowe catchment area experiencing heavy rainfall leading to flooding of Lotsane and its Dibokwe and Dikabeya tributaries. It's a pity the Goo Moremi village always gets flooded even when it experiences normal or no rainfall 🤦

The hike may have been cancelled by the flood but we continued camping at Marat'yane Heritage Village for three more days, enjoying our stay here, mingling with the locals and letting the spontaneity take over our monotonous lives 🧘🏾

We'll be here again with the BIUST Hiking Club in March/April camping and hiking their Annual "15 KM San Francisco" and " 25 KM Map of Africa" Trails 💪🏾
