| | The Epitome of Patience | |

This image is the epitome of hard work and perseverance and how much it will pay off, if your approach is considered and patient.

We spent the better part of 10 days on safari in search of such a sighting. We searched high and low, hour after hour and on our final evening in the Grumeti, we were gifted the most memorable sighting.

I preach this often, but if you enter the bush with the right attitude and let her open her window to you, you will be rewarded immensely.

Often with soulful gazes, much like the ones we share with each other. If only we could clearly understand their meaning.

| | Badger don’t Care | |

The honey badger is known to be one of the most fierce small creatures in Africa. They are brave enough to take on lions and leopards and can outwit the smartest of the smart.

They are rarely seen and often not relaxed enough to photograph, so to encounter one in this setting, and be able to capture this moment, will go down as one of my highlights in years.

My lack of presence is a product of my time away. This year has turned out to be one of the busiest years I have experienced in 7 years of private guiding.

I have just returned from a month long safari, across Botswana and South Africa and the pure thrill of the journey has proven my love for our wild places.

What goes up, must come down and with planning and understanding of animal behavior, you can put yourself in the right position to capture the moment you are after.

Wildlife photography is exciting and challenging due to the nature of your subjects. Subjects that don’t listen when you ask them to strike a pose, or climb down a tree where you expect them to.

This is what keeps us coming back and keeps us chasing these moments.

| | Patience meets Reward | |

I have said this before and I will say it again, patience pays. You truly begin to understand the value of your experience if you are willing to give it a chance.

On a current safari, we sat in the blistering heat, waiting for a moment like this to play out. When one would usually head back to camp, to enjoy the heat of the day by the pool, we stuck it out and got paid with a huge reward!

It is known for the large herds and the intense predator concentrations, that seasonally gather to take advantage of a time of plenty.

Ndutu and the Southern Serengeti are the place where the Great Migration come to birth and raise their young, on the short, nutrient-rich grass plains.

They move in their masses, across these ocean like grasslands, and what tails the herds are predators aplenty. Each part of the system, here to make the most of this short window of abundance.

It goes without saying that any time spent in the bush is good time, but spending good time in the bush can be the difference between memorable and unforgettable.

On a recent safari to Singita Grumeti, in the western corridor of the Serengeti, we were surprised with incredible leopard encounters, and this will go down as one of the most unique sightings I have had.

February 2022 was the month of the Serengeti with this epic crew! We escaped into the eastern, southern and western corridors of the Serengeti ecosystem chasing wildebeest, zebra, predators, sunsets and gin & tonics.

It was a trip I will never forget and there is so much exciting content to come, soon.
