At our core, we are so much of what they gave us. And I’m not talking about genes, I’m talking about something deeper: examples.
We carry many marks from our mothers and our grandmothers. We are an echo of the strength and the fears of so many women who came before us.
And along the journey of life, while finding our own voice, identity, and mark, we must always decide what we will carry from them and what from them and from ourselves we will pass on to our children.
To be a mother is to give yourself completely and watch your children recreate a new world with everything we left within them.
My mother left me strength.
My grandmother, courage.
And I hope to leave my daughter enough love so that she never forgets who she is. 🤍
