I am originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil but have been living in the USA for 6 years. Even from a very early age, my interests have always gravitated towards the arts and communication. I studied Journalism and Fashion Business in Brazil and Photography & Media here. Above all of these things, photography is my passion! My favorite thing about photography is meeting new people

and listening to their stories. Whether it’s a story of a young couple in love, a mom waiting for her first baby, or a couple married for 30 years, I love to capture love. My goal as a photographer is to always create something new and give each client images that are as unique as their personality. Based in the Washington DC area, I cover mostly VA, MD, DC. But I am ready to travel and take your pictures anywhere else. I shoot entirely digital on professional Canon bodies and lenses. I use natural light as often as I can to keep your photos as pure and vibrant as they can be. With Mari Avilla Photography, you will have complete freedom with your high-resolution digital files, which you will receive within 2 weeks of your photo shoot. The files print beautifully up to poster size. When I am not photographing, you can find me spending time outdoors, visiting museums, reading a book, or having a strong coffee somewhere small and cozy.
