Last Saturday ProEMA hosted a fundraising dinner led by chef Elisa Fernandes (winner of Master Chef Brazil 2015).

The 5 course dinner was prepared by the chef and ProEMA staff with locally sourced ingredients, and demonstrated a beautiful combination of both Brazilian and Timorese gastronomy.

Elisa spoke to all guests and highlighted the importance of their support to women’s empowerment.

With only a few more days left in Timor-Leste, Elisa will continue to run workshops at ProEMA and explore the country’s capital city.

Hoje, no Centro Cultural Português, a Lorosae Photography atendeu a cerimônia de encerramento do 1° Ciclo de Formação em Língua Portuguesa, aonde 60 funcionários de três instituições governamentais do Timor-Leste receberam a sua certificação. Parabéns aos formandos!

Today .timorleste welcomed Chef .fernandes (Winner of Master Chef Brazil 2015). Elisa travelled across the globe to share her knowledge with very enthusiastic young ladies, who joined .timorleste for a life changing experience. For the next few days, Elisa will get to know Timor-Leste’s capital city, run gastronomy workshops, and host a special Valentine’s day dinner. will be there registering every moment of this special visit so stay tuned. 🇹🇱 @ Dili

Photography was a hobby of mine for many years, and not long ago, I decided to take a step further and make a career out of it. I’ve had film cameras, point and shoot, bridge, crop sensor and now a full frame one - mirrorless is next 💃🏽.

Tonight I sat down and went looking for the oldest photo in my file. Between many blurry, poorly composed and non-sense (really non-sense) shots I found these two photographs. I love looking back in time and realising I had no idea what I was doing but still took LOTS of photos just out of pure passion.

The first one was taken outside a church located in the city centre of Batatais, Brazil in 2010. I had a versatile Lumix DMCFZ28 bridge camera. The angle isn’t perfect but there are other things about this photo that I cherish even to date.

The second one is the oldest I could find in my drive. It was taken over 10 years ago with a point and shoot Casio EX-Z33 in São Paulo, Brazil. Great shot for a simple camera and I cannot imagine how much better it could have looked if I had professional equipment.

I am very proud of how far I’ve come on my photography journey and there is SO MUCH MORE to learn and apply. #011

This afternoon was a memorable one.

Together with remarkable individuals including José Ramos-Horta, Michael Stone, and Martin Dransfield we visited the award-winning humanitarian organisation SOLS 24/7.

Dr. Madenjit Singh (A.K.A Big Teacher) showed us the facilities located in Becora, and explained how his powerful development program is changing lives of disadvantaged youth in East Timor.
