You don’t have to be Palestinian to fight for their cause. I’ve shed so many tears for the people of Gaza but at this march I felt a surge of hope and inspiration from the thousands who we marched with. I asked my friend Elnatan Mulugeta to come out and help me film this historical moment because it’s important to show up. If you’re not informed about the plight of the Palestinians people I implore you to educate yourself and show up, that’s the least that we can do. Also donate to organizations like the PALESTINIAN YOUTH MOVEMENT, Answer Coalition, and MD 2 Palestine to name a few. Palestine will be free within our lifetime!

La Paz, Bolivia is a city that blends the energy of city life with the majesty of the Andes, and there's no better way to experience it than by soaring high above it all on the teleférico.

As I boarded the gondola and took flight, the scale of the city below hit me. The streets bustled with life, the people a colorful blur of movement, while the distant peaks of the Andes loomed like guardians.

But it wasn't just the views that left me in awe. It was the feeling of liberation, of being unshackled from the constraints of the world below. For a moment, I felt like I could do anything, that nothing was out of reach.

The teleférico is more than a mode of transportation, it's a symbol of La Paz's indomitable spirit. A city that refuses to be held back, constantly forging ahead and embracing progress.

So, take a journey with me with these photos, experience the thrill of riding the winds and see La Paz from a perspective like no other. Because sometimes, the things that scare us the most hold the greatest reward.

One of the most powerful experiences I had in Bolivia was capturing a protest in the capital about missing women and the issue of femicides in the country. Bolivia has the highest rate of femicide in South America, with two femicides for every 100,000 women reported in 2018. The first six months of 2019 saw more than 60 reported murders of women, or one femicide every two days. The prevalence of femicide is a result of overall high levels of abuse and domestic violence against women, with an estimated 70% of women having been victims of violence by their partners.

The problem of femicide is unfortunately accompanied by a high degree of impunity. In 2016, only 4.7% of cases of violence against women made it to court and less than 5% were sentenced or closed. In the 23 months starting in 2013, there were 206 cases of femicide reported, but only eight of those resulted in a court sentence for the murderer.

The bravery of the women and men who stand up for what is right is truly moving, and I want to continue to share their stories through my photography and filmmaking. I believe that through art and storytelling, we can raise awareness and bring about change. The fight for justice and equality must continue.

Stay tuned for more pictures and videos from Bolivia, as I continue to showcase the beauty and strength of the people.

La Paz, Bolivia is a bustling city full of life and energy. As a street photographer, it was a dream come true to wander the streets and capture the reality and spontaneity of everyday life. From the lively city streets to the colorful street art, I was constantly amazed by the beauty I found in the unexpected.

One of my favorite things about street photography is the ability to create a story with just one frame. Whether it was a woman waiting to cross the street, a stray dog, or people bringing flowers to their deceased loved ones, there was always a moment waiting to be captured.

I am grateful for the opportunity to capture these fleeting moments and bring a small slice of the vibrant culture of La Paz back with me. Street photography is a reminder to slow down, take a closer look, and find the beauty in the everyday. Which one is your favorite?

I became a father right out of high school, which forced me to grow up quickly. I was young, broke and uncertain, with no real guidance on how to navigate this new role. But I knew one thing for certain - I would do whatever it took to provide for my family and make sure they were taken care of.

I worked a variety of jobs to put food on the table, from a dish washer, line cook, griller and eventually a service manager,. Despite the long hours and hard work, I never gave up on my passions. I loved photography, film and activism, and I always made time to pursue them. I even took my kids with me to protests, wanting to instill in them the importance of standing up for what is right.

The journey hasn’t been easy, but I never wavered. Now, as I look back on all that I have accomplished, I am proud of how far I have come. Being able to take my family out the country to travel and experience something new is a God send and I won’t take it for granted. The joy in my sons eyes in this picture is a testament to that.

I hope to continue setting an example for my children, to show them that with hard work and resilience, they can accomplish anything they set their minds to. I want to work towards a brighter future for my family and community. I am humbled and grateful for every step of this journey. I take a moment to appreciate where I am in life, and I know that this is just the beginning of an even greater story to come. Peace!

This year has been a deeply meaningful and impactful one for me as a photographer and filmmaker. I was honored to have the opportunity to go on assignment for a number of important causes, and I feel grateful to have been able to capture some truly powerful and memorable moments. Some highlights include:

1) A campaign to enroll people in health care coverage, specifically targeting the African immigrant community.

2) A protest against Amazon's cloud conference over the company's work with police and immigration agencies.

3) A case involving a trash transfer station in Brentwood a majority black neighborhood in Washington DC that has resulted in poor air quality and high rates of respiratory illness and other diseases, and which was used as evidence in a case of environmental racism.

4) A Narrative Disruption workshop exploring the transformative power of storytelling.

5)The Gender Within: The Art of Identity exhibit celebrating the diversity of gender identities and orientations, highlighting the fluidity of gender and the importance of acknowledging and respecting individual identities.

6) A rally in Washington DC by a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-generational coalition calling for the protection of immigrants and an end to the detention and deportation system.

Overall, this year has been a rewarding and fulfilling for me and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to document and bring attention to these important causes and issues. Peace!
