Hey Cosmic fam!

Today we are sharing a very fulfilling collaboration project, produced by me and my coworker & astro photographer Peter Rios 📸 during this past weekend in the beautiful subtropical town of Coroico (Yungas).

We got the amazing opportunity to do some astro so I got to work immediately and got a transport that could take us to this specific location at the top of the Uchumachi mountain in Coroico. Once at the location we realized that it was definitely worth putting 100% of our efforts on the church as our main subject. I initially wanted to align the crux constellation but It's not the ideal time of the year and it was not the ideal time of the night and we only had so much time to work this out. Rho Ophiuchi is very high up in the sky this time of year so we decided to do a Composite of Rho with the Church. I hope you like the concept and effort we put down on this project to show the world the magic of Bolivian nightscapes.

Sajama and the SCP (South Celestial Pole) 🗻🌀✨

Hey Cosmic fam!

I've had a much deserved vacation this past weekend 🌴 and finally are back to start new projects, journey's and adventure's!

Today I'm sharing my second startrail shot from a couple of weeks ago at Sajama National Park, as I said that night was really beautiful and dark and I had this specific project in mind; to align the south celestial pole with the peak of the Sajama mountain, my first shared image was timelapse based, this one however is a single shot startrail at 85mm with a crazy 65min exposure time, I know this is not the usual way of doing startrails but every now and then I do them and find it very satisfying.

I also included a comparison of both images done that night and a startrail video of the first timelapse based image. I hope you appreciate it and stay tuned for more cool projects coming up. I wish y'all a productive week with clear skies and cosmic vibes 🖖🏽✨.

✨This week is very unique and powerful considering we have a solar eclipse, a planet parade and the peak of the Perseids meteor shower all that is during the 12th of August (eclipse and planet parade only seen from the northern hemisphere) so I'm still gonna go out and try to catch the Perseids. What are your plans? I've seen many astro photographers preparing for the upcoming solar eclipse! Good luck out there!

29th of July 2026 • Full Moon in Aquarius ♒🌕✨

Hey Lunar and Cosmic fam!
This full moon was particularly potent because it was conjunct Pluto and opposite Jupiter, marking a major turning point for deep emotional transformation and self awareness. With the sun also conjunct Jupiter on that same day it brought a massive wave of expansive energy and new opportunities empowering us to embrace our authenticity and step into new chapters.

So finally I found time to share the energy of this past full moon in aquarius that was very special and powerful; it aligned with a huge milestone and turning point in my astro photography career mainly my first APOD and also a short film co-production winning a film festival competition here in Bolivia, it all made sense, not just because of the full moon energy but it aligned with my current state of being and expressing my work and art, and also with me finding true love with my partner and girlfriend.

The night of the full moon we had some smoke and haze which actually gave the images some drama and character, I like those different light conditions, you can clearly see that in this set of images.

🤯🇧🇴✨🌌I was extremely surprised with this! I'm still processing how it all went down but above all I'm full of happiness, gratitude and joy. I was thinking of something totally different because this image was created back in April and I know that the APOD team sometimes take their time to share an image but damn I'm so happy 😊, this is a huge milestone for me and my astrophotography career but it's also a huge milestone for my beloved country of Bolivia, I'm almost 100% sure it's the first APOD given to a Bolivian, it makes me proud of my work but it also makes me very happy and proud to represent my country 🇧🇴🫡😃🌌✨📸🔭

Explanation: What's connecting these two volcanoes? In ancient folklore, the two volcanoes, Parinacota (left) and Pomerape (right), are connected by representing a mythical prince and princess who engaged in a forbidden romance. Beneath the ground, the two peaks are not known to be connected by a common pool of hot magma, and neither volcano has erupted in the past 1000 years. Above the ground, there is usually nothing in the sky that connects them -- except if you use careful timing and look from a specific location. The featured well-planned image was captured from Bolivia in mid-April with a series of camera exposures taken on the same day and from the same location. Then, Barnard's Loop appeared to connect the volcanic peaks. Also visible in the image is the Orion Nebula in the center, the star Betelgeuse on the right, and the Rosette Nebula on the upper right.
