Enchantress, Shawn 2026
// This exploration was born from a desire to slow down and reconnect with what truly matters. Through a fictional figure inspired by Beninese spiritual traditions, I explore ritual, nature, and contemplation as a quiet journey between the visible and the invisible. At the crossroads of magical realism, poetry, and mythology, this exhibition is an invitation to pause, observe, and reconnect with the subtle magic that surrounds us.

Mathias is a young boy from Adjarra, a town in the south-east of Benin located in the Ouémé region. Adjarra is best known for its large traditional craft market and its vibrant cultural heritage. In recent years, it has been attracting more and more visitors thanks to its calm atmosphere and the beauty of its surroundings, mangroves, waterways, and a landscape that feels untouched.

Mathias est un jeune garçon d’Adjarra, une commune du sud-est du Bénin dans le département de l’Ouémé. Adjarra est surtout connue pour son grand marché artisanal et pour la richesse de ses traditions. Ces dernières années, l’endroit attire de plus en plus de visiteurs à cause de son atmosphère paisible et à la beauté de ses paysages : des zones de mangroves, des étendues d’eau et une nature encore préservée.
