Golden Light Through Red Sandstone in Belogradchik

Framing the Belogradchik Rocks through one of their natural rock arches right as the low sun hits the landscape is always a winning perspective.

The way the warm morning light sets those ancient red conglomerate formations glowing against the deep blue sky is pure magic. Finding a unique natural frame in the foreground really highlights the scale and rugged texture of this otherworldly landscape.

Street Art Framed by Tradition in Staro Zhelezare

Exploring the open-air gallery of Staro Zhelezare always reveals incredible details hidden on old village walls.

This mural caught my eye immediately, a striking black-and-white portrait set inside an intricate, lace-like geometric border. The way the contemporary graffiti blends with the rustic texture of the old plaster and traditional roof tiles above makes the whole village feel like a living canvas. A quiet, artistic corner of the Bulgarian countryside.

Cooling Down With Frozen Ridge Textures on Vitosha

On a scorching September day like today, looking back at these wind-carved snow drifts on Vitosha Mountain feels almost refreshing.
The sub-zero wind up on the plateau shapes the snow into sharp, wave-like rime structures across the granite boulders. Converting this high-altitude landscape to high-contrast black and white really brought out the harsh, icy textures and deep shadow lines etched into the slope. Counting down until winter returns to the peaks.

Memories of the Surreal Scale in Daylight of "Steel Grass" at Sofia Lights 2024

Throwing it back to an extraordinary series from the fourth edition of SofiaLights at Vrana Park.

Capturing "Steel Grass" by French studio in full daylight was all about scale and lines. Seeing these 7-story-tall structures arch across the clear sky, sway with the breeze, and cut through the massive pine trees made for some incredible wide-angle compositions. Switching between vibrant golden-hour light and sharp black-and-white really highlighted the futuristic contrast against the park’s natural landscape.

Valley View Under Dramatic Skies in Razlog

Climbing up the Stapalata eco-trail on Golak Hill gives you the absolute best vantage point over the whole Razlog valley.

Caught this shot right as heavy clouds began rolling over the distant Pirin peaks, casting sharp patches of sunlight across the red rooftops below. The contrast between the quiet town spreading out in the valley and the moody, shifting weather overhead made for a unreal wide-angle view.

The Sacred Medieval Walls of Zemen Monastery

Stepping into the Church of St. John the Theologian at Zemen Monastery hits differently when you look straight up into the vaulted ceiling.

Tucked along the scenic Struma River valley, this 11th-century sanctuary preserves some of the rawest, most expressive 14th-century frescoes in Bulgaria. Catching that soft natural light streaming down through the narrow dome window, bringing out the weathered halos and cracked painted stone, reveals centuries of history preserved in total silence. Ancient artistry at its finest.

Throwing it back to one of the most electric nights at Club Mixtape 5 , Last Hope headlining Hardcore X-Mass.

Capturing that split second where a stage diver is literally upside down over the pit while Chikata commands the crowd under the blue spotlights is everything live music photography is about. The energy, the sweat, and the absolute sea of hands reaching up made this frame an instant favorite. Pure Bulgarian hardcore power.

Hidden Waters of Belasitsa, Leshnishki Waterfall

Tucked deep within the lush forests of Belasitsa Mountain, Leshnishki Waterfall (Лешнишки водопад) is one of those tranquil spots that feels like a world of its own.

Using a slow shutter speed to smooth out the twin streams, the long exposure brings out the contrast between the silky water, the moss-covered rock face, and the natural tangle of fallen branches at the base. Pure, raw woodland atmospheric quietness.

There’s a wild, alpine magic to the high glacial cirques of Northern Pirin.

Standing beside the turquoise waters of Muratovo Lake, watching the storm clouds sweep over the granite ridgelines, made for an unforgettable scene. Caught this exact moment right as dramatic crepuscular rays cut through the heavy sky, illuminating the alpine scrub, jagged rocks, and peak reflections below. Pure, rugged wilderness at over 2,200 meters.
