Day 3 — Into the Colorado Mountains 🇺🇸 ⛰️

Our first full day in Colorado took us right out of the city and up into the mountains with Lauri and Brian. We were so thrilled to meet up once again with them. Lauri ( and her family) are lifelong friends of my family. So nice to start our 5 days together like this. We hiked around Echo Lake — crisp air, alpine views, and the Rockies stretching endlessly. Mount Blue Sky was closed, but honestly, it didn’t matter. We hiked up in the mountains and had an amazing time. The company and the scenery made it unforgettable. ❤️

Afterwards, we wound down in Idaho Springs — a little mountain town with an old mining history that still lingers in its streets. It’s the kind of place where time feels slower, and yes… where we finally tried Colorado-style pizza. Thick, hearty, with a sweet crust you drizzle honey on at the end. Unexpected, and honestly, awesome.

Friends, mountains, small-town charm, and honey on pizza crust. That’s how Day 3 carved itself into the memory.

Day 2 — St. George, UT → Denver, CO 🇺🇸
The morning started in St. George, where we made a quick stop at the Latter-Day Saints temple. It’s impossible to miss — gleaming white against the desert backdrop. A reminder of how deeply woven the Mormon story is into Utah’s landscape and culture.

From there, it was a full day on the road. Interstate 70 carried us through canyons, plateaus, and miles that seemed endless. Somewhere along the way, hunger won and we pulled into a Subway — the most “classic American roadtrip” stop you could imagine. Simple, but it hit the spot.

By nightfall, Denver welcomed us. Exhausted but buzzing, we finally made it to the friends we’d been chasing across the miles.

The trip already felt epic. And it was only Day 2.

USA ROADTRIP DAY 1 🇺🇸

Day 1 — LA → St. George, UT

Last August, we set off on a roadtrip across the US. I want to share it back, one day at a time! I will still post other content in between, but will try to hold onto this format as well!

It started right after landing in LA. No time to ease in: we picked up the car and aimed straight for Denver to meet old friends. A long flight and a long drive in one go was a bit much, so we broke it up with a quick stop in St. George.

Before we got there, though, Utah already showed off. Sunset over desert roads, cliffs glowing red, and that feeling of finally being out in the wide open. That moment became the true start of the trip. 🏜️ 🇺🇸

One month later, it feels even more golden.

There’s something special about Cooke City, Montana ✨. Tucked high in the mountains at the Northeast Entrance of Yellowstone, this tiny town feels like stepping back in time.

When we rolled in after a long day of exploring, the first thing we noticed was how quiet it was — just the sound of the creek, the wind in the pines, and an occasional ATV, rumbling down Main Street( which is also the only street). 🌲

From here, we were only minutes away from Yellowstone wildlife and right at the base of the Beartooth Highway, one of the most scenic drives in America. 🚙🌄

When going to Yellowstone through this town, you’ll immediately drive through the Lamar Valley, where you can spot the big bison herd! 🦬

If you ever make it out this way, don’t just pass through — grab a meal at a local diner, stay in a rustic cabin, and soak in the mountain views. Cooke City may be small, but it’s unforgettable. ❤️

👉 Save this post for your next Montana road trip.

🦬 Wild welcome to Yellowstone! 🌄
Nothing says USA road trip like crossing paths with a herd of bison in Lamar Valley.

This valley is often called “America’s Serengeti” — and for good reason. Wide-open plains, dramatic skies, and the largest wild bison herd in the country. Seeing them roam freely felt like stepping back in time.

A bit of history: Bison once roamed North America in the millions, but by the late 1800s they were nearly gone. Thanks to Yellowstone’s conservation efforts, this is now the best place to witness these incredible animals in their natural habitat.

Bunkers in the sand, remnants of the past - 80years VE Day📖

At Furreby Beach in northern Denmark, remnants of the Atlantic Wall still cling to the shoreline. Built during the German occupation, they now crumble beneath the waves—80 years after Denmark’s Liberation on May 5, 1945.

All across Denmark, you’ll find remnants of WW2. This week marks 80 years since Denmark’s & Europe’s liberation. These ruins remind us not only of what was endured—but of what was overcome. 🇩🇰

Driving through the town of Lom in Norway, you’ll find the Lom Stavkirke. Once believed that there were almost 2000 of them, 28 stave churches are still preserved. They are considered to be one of the most important examples of Medieval architecture in Europe and are absolutely wonderful to look at. The stave church of Lom was erected around 1170 and is still in active use ! 🇳🇴 ⛪️ 🪵
