Op zondag 8 juni gaat de vijfde editie van het internationale fotofestival Lens op de Mens in Pelt, België van start.

Lens op de Mens - Fotofestival Pelt, een hele zomer lang meer dan 1000 foto's te bezichtigen in de straten en op de pleinen van Pelt, samen met meerdere gasttentoonstellingen van topfotografen.

On Monday, April 3 2017, FEP held its annual General Assembly in the majestic "Aula Consiliare" of the "Palazzo degli Elefanti", historical Town Hall of Catania.

In the General Assembly, 22 FEP member associations were represented. The meeting has been held with the presence of the Major of Catania Enzo Bianco as long as the city counselor Lanfranco Zappalà.

The General Assembly was a part of the fifth FEP Photo Days event; during the Photo Days the audience could attend presentations from 3 MQEP photographers, Günther Egger, Tiina Haring and Antonio Barrella.
The annual FEP Professional Photographer of the Year - competition’s award ceremony was also a part of the Photo Day, this time also joined by the FEP Photo Book Prize.
The winners of these competitions were Peter Cakovsky from Slovakia (Professional Photographer of the Year 2017) and Wang Hui from China (Photo Book Prize).

During the General Assembly the final budget of 2016 was approved as long as the provisional budget of 2017. FEP also adopted a new system for its membership fees: member countries will be rewarded for actively sending QEP/MQEP applications with reduced membership fees.

The General Assembly also unanimously elected a new President for the term of 2018-2020, Truls Løtvedt, from Norway.

Congratulations to all of the award winners and to the new President!

The FEP also wants to express its gratitude to Eugenio Li Volsi a QEP photographer from Sicily and to the presidents of the two Italian FEP member associations Confartigianato Fotografi Maurizio Besana and CNA Comunicazione Andrea Nannini for their great effort to make this event happen successfully!

Met 'Lens op de mens' organiseert CC Palethe in Overpelt tijdens de zomer van 2017 de eerste editie van een tweejaarlijks internationaal fotofestival. Alle professionele en gedreven amateurfotografen uit de hele wereld zijn welkom om hun meest fotogenieke werken te tonen aan een groot publiek. Voor deze editie staat het menselijk portret centraal. Een internationale jury bestaande uit ervaren vakmensen zal de foto’s selecteren. Initiatiefneemster en drijvende kracht achter dit festival is collega Carine Van Gerven. De Nationale Vereniging van Beroepsfotografen is een van de partners van dit fotofestival.
Van 17 juni tot en met 31 augustus 2017 organiseert CC Palethe de eerste editie van ‘Lens op de Mens’, waarbij het de bedoeling is om minstens 500 foto’s in het straatbeeld van Overpelt te tonen.
De komende weken en maanden doet de organisatie een oproep naar fotografen uit de hele wereld om hun beste foto’s te tonen op het fotofestival.
Nog tot 9 januari 2017 zijn inschrijvingen mogelijk via de website www.fotofestivaloverpelt.be. De Nationale Vereniging van Beroepsfotografen, met een sterk netwerk in binnen- en buitenland en het Centrum Voor Beeldexpressie als steunpunt voor niet-professionele fotografen onthaalden dit idee met veel enthousiasme en zetten mee hun schouders onder het project.

Deze foto van een arbeider in een jutefabriek in India werd in Triëste, Italië bekroond met een Excellence Award Single Image (+90%) bij de uitreiking van de FEP - European Photographer of the Year Awards 2015. Samen met 2 andere foto's uit de reeks leverde dit een Bronzen Camera Award op.

Top 10 is nu al top 3 geworden bij de finalisten van de FEP Photographer of the Year 2015 fotowedstrijd. Leuk om te horen dat het dus minimaal een Bronzen Camera wordt, samen met 2 bevriende collega's in de top 3.
