Ik ben Marijke, het (glimlachende) gezicht achter Portret Mariette en gepassioneerde lifestyle- en huwelijksfotografe. Het is sterker dan mezelf – klanten vertellen me vaak dat ik straal als ik achter mijn camera sta. Ik hou van wat ik doe, en dat zie je blijkbaar meteen. ツ

Fotografie is voor mij zoveel meer dan gewoon een mooie foto maken. Het gaat om échte emoties, spontane blikken en die klein

e aanrakingen die jullie verhaal vertellen. Momenten die je voor altijd wil koesteren – dát is waar het voor mij om draait. Als kind liep ik al rond met een wegwerpcamera, en toen ik mama werd, groeide mijn passie alleen maar meer. Ondertussen heb ik mijn eigen stijl ontwikkeld: lichte, warme en zachte tinten die een tijdloze sfeer oproepen. Kiezen voor mij betekent foto’s die oprecht en persoonlijk aanvoelen, helemaal zoals jullie zijn. Naast fotografe ben ik mama van twee lieve dochters en werk ik als kleuterjuf. Ik heb een natuurlijke connectie met kinderen, en ik weet dat ze vaak niet stil willen zitten of maar een korte aandachtsspanne hebben. Maar dat is net de charme – ik laat ze gewoon spelen en plezier maken. Voor mij draait het om het vastleggen van wie jullie écht zijn, in het moment. Of je nu een gezellige gezinsshoot plant of toeleeft naar jullie huwelijksdag, het draait altijd om die pure, oprechte momenten. Elke bruiloft heeft zijn eigen magie en verdient foto's die jullie liefde op een natuurlijke en authentieke manier weergeven. Van een intense blik tot een spontane lach – ik zorg ervoor dat geen enkel waardevol moment verloren gaat. Maar genoeg over mij... Ik kijk ernaar uit om jou te leren kennen! Love doesn’t always begin with a blank page.

Sometimes, it simply takes a different path.
With a little more life lived, a few more stories to carry… and little hands holding yours along the way.

Wedding with Kids was created as an ode to modern love. To second chances, blended families and weddings where children aren’t simply part of the guest list, but part of the story.

Because elegance and real life can exist in the same frame.
Because love can be soft and sophisticated, playful and deeply emotional, all at once.

And maybe that’s what makes these stories so beautiful.

It’s not about starting over. It’s about writing the next chapter together.

It’s been a little quiet over here.

Not because I’ve disappeared, but because life has been beautifully full.

Wedding season is in full swing, galleries are taking shape behind the scenes, and I can’t wait for my couples to relive their day through these memories. My girls are enjoying their summer holidays, and somewhere in between I’m trying to find that balance between work, family, and a little room to dream.

This is San Galgano Abbey.

One of those places that instantly found its way onto my wedding photography wishlist.

Standing here, I couldn’t help but imagine guests arriving, lush florals filling the space, live musicians playing beneath these ancient arches…

Can you imagine saying “I do” here?

Because I definitely can.

One week ago, Kato & Niels got married.

The laughter.
The happy tears.

The way they kept looking at each other.

An intimate day, full of joy and so much love.

And next year, they’ll get to do it all over again with a tiny little cutie extra. 🤍

Somewhere along the way, I became obsessed with preserving the feeling of things.

Which honestly explains a lot:
why I get emotionally attached to old photographs and still believe there’s something beautiful about people loving each other deeply. ✨

So… if you’re new here, this feels like the perfect moment to properly introduce myself.

I’m Marijke. Photographer, mama of two girls and somehow still living out my teenage love story.

Fun fact: when I was 16, I somehow ended up participating in a beauty contest (still questioning that decision), and the jury suddenly asked me:
“What fairytale do you believe in?”

And without even thinking, I answered:
“True love.”

A little dramatic maybe… but honestly? I still believe in people choosing each other, over and over again.

After losing my dad and becoming a mum myself, photographs started meaning something completely different to me.

Time suddenly feels like it slips through your hands so quickly.

I think that’s why I care so deeply about photographs now.

Not just because they’re beautiful, but because they allow us to hold onto moments, people and feelings a little longer.

So yes, I’m probably emotionally attached to my camera at this point. 🙃

But honestly?
I wouldn’t want it any other way.
