A little throwback to some of my favourite hummingbird photos from this year 🥹💚

These tiny birds are so much fun to photograph! They are fast, unpredictable, and somehow always managing to look completely adorable while doing it.

From backyard visitors to little flashes of colour in the wild, hummingbirds have definitely been one of my favourite subjects to photograph this year.

Wildlife isn’t all I photograph 👀🐾

While you’ll see plenty of owls, bears, birds and other BC wildlife around here, I also offer pet photography sessions across the North Shore and Lower Mainland.

I love creating natural, outdoor pet portraits that capture their personality! Whether that means sitting perfectly for the camera, running full speed through the forest, or being completely distracted by everything around them. 😂

Dogs, cats and other pets are all welcome. ❤️ My goal is to give you beautiful photos that actually feel like them and memories you’ll be able to keep forever.

There’s something incredible about watching a Bald Eagle scan the shoreline, completely focused on its surroundings. One of the most iconic birds of prey in British Columbia and one of my favourite birds to see in the wild!

Happy International Owl Awareness Day! (Yes I know Im a day late 😅)

British Columbia is home to 15 incredible owl species, each playing an important role in keeping our ecosystems healthy. As silent nighttime hunters, owls help naturally control rodent populations and are indicators of healthy forests and grasslands.

Today's carousel features five owls I have seen in British Columbia:
🦉 Short-eared Owl
🦉 Barn Owl
🦉 Great Horned Owl
🦉 Great Grey Owl
🦉 Barred Owl

We can all help protect owls by:
🌲 Conserving mature forests and grasslands.
🐀 Avoiding rodenticides, which can poison owls through their prey.
🚗 Driving carefully at dawn and dusk when many owls are actively hunting.
📷 Giving wildlife plenty of space so they can hunt, nest, and thrive.

Every encounter with an owl is a reminder of just how wild and incredible British Columbia still is.

Happy (one day late) International Owl Awareness Day!

British Columbia is home to **15 species of owls**, from the tiny Northern Pygmy-Owl to the magnificent Great Grey Owl. Each plays an important role in keeping ecosystems healthy by naturally controlling rodent populations and serving as indicators of healthy forests.

How you can help protect owls:
🌲 Preserve old forests and natural nesting habitat.
🚗 Slow down on rural roads, especially at dawn and dusk.
🐀 Avoid using rodenticides, which can poison owls through their prey.
📸 Observe from a respectful distance and never disturb nesting birds.
