It has been already quite a while since my last post and as I slowly start to ramp up my creative activity, I thought it timely to start posting again.

I always struggle to publish (thoughts incoming); this is not done yet / I should have more pictures for this post / do my posts flow? / Wait - damn it - I don’t have a reel for this! / what is my message to the world? / I only have enough material for one post; should I wait until I have more and then post “regularly”? / what if it doesn’t perform well? etcetera

I don’t think I am the only one whose sense of “perfectionism” and overthinking supposes a clear bottleneck to publishing our own creations/projects/fascinations. By all means it is not a requirement to publish, but for those of us who want to share with the world what we are capable and/or proud of, it’s part of the game.

My current self-talk to deal with such bottleneck is to:
- Forgive & love my curious, imperfect self
- Champion curiosity over perfection
- Analyse, learn and improve
- Hakuna Matata in this case, to have fun

Before I end this rather long (my longest so far?) post on self-reflection, I would like to say a couple of words on the picture itself (how could I not!).

This was a collab done not too long after summer 2023 and I wanted to recreate wave reflections on the model. I am very thankful to for committing to the idea and to for her blazing efficient yet lovely makeup. I hope we get to work again not too far in the future :-)

Sometimes life gets in the way; workload becomes, house gets messy, no time for this, no time for that anymore.

However badly you need to do one thing (work in my case), nothing is good in excess. This post is a reminder (to self) to keep doing the things that are important to me, which are the things that keep me sane, healthy and feeling more alive than ever. One cannot waste too much time worrying and ought to live it instead. I hope you remember to do that too :-)

A bit of an impromptu (as we like to do) shoot with Arianna. No makeup artist collaboration, but that’s all right. The important thing is to go ahead and satisfy that craving to photograph, to pose, to create.

We wanted to create a fashion look yet keep it simple, minimal. We got lucky and we got some interesting natural light. More to see in the next post… Any favourites?
