On this World Ocean Day, we’re proud to share the trailer for our upcoming documentary, THE NET.
Three years ago, we stepped aboard a bottom trawler and witnessed the reality of this destructive fishing practice with our own eyes.
What we saw stayed with us: tonnes of bycatch, marine life struggling for survival on deck, and the destruction left behind on the seafloor. At the same time, we met fishermen whose livelihoods are deeply tied to a practice that is threatening the future of the ocean – and ultimately their own.
The more we learned about bottom trawling, the more we realised how little public awareness there is of its true impact. Most of what happens beneath the surface remains hidden from view.
Now, three years later, this story is finally ready to be shared.
