Art is a way of breathing, a gentle form of art therapy that allow to transform emotions into something meaningful. » Bill Brandt

EN (FR en dessous)

Sean Avram Carpenter is a violinist whose artistry reflects a rare blend of passion, discipline, and authenticity. Deeply inspired by the great violin traditions of the past, he carries forward the spirit of the golden age while speaking with a voice entirely his own.

For Sean, music is not simply a profession—it is a way of life. His violin accompanies him everywhere, becoming an extension of himself, as natural as breath itself. Driven by endless curiosity and a desire to keep growing, he believes that there is no age at which an artist stops learning or discovering new possibilities.

Whether on stage, in the practice room, or sharing music with audiences around the world, Sean approaches every note with sincerity, elegance, and gratitude. His performances are shaped by a deep respect for the great masters who came before him and by a commitment to bringing beauty, emotion, and inspiration to today’s listeners.

“I don’t count the hours I practice. I simply can’t imagine life without my violin.” – Sean Avram Carpenter

🎻✨ Music without borders. Passion without limits. A lifelong journey of discovery.

You don’t just see this place—you dissolve into it,

For the past ten years, I have shaping not only my artistry, but also my connection with music and with myself. Today, I feel completely at one with the Del Gesù F. Kreisler twin — as if the instrument had become an extension of my own soul and voice.

Living a healthy and balanced life, playing tennis, walking, and constantly surrounding myself with art and beauty have helped preserve that sense of wonder in a world marked by post-Covid changes and conflicts everywhere around us. Strangely enough, I have never felt so grounded, confident, and free while performing.

We are currently in the middle of an artistic project that we truly hope will fascinate and inspire you as much as it inspires us, I promise you something big. Until then, thank you for your support, follow the page for more updates, and stay tuned for what is coming next. 🎻✨🙏🏼🎶

Music runs through the soul of the Carpenter siblings.
Sean on violin, David on viola, and Lauren on violin — three artists connected not only by family, but by a shared passion and a common sense of purpose: to bring emotion, beauty, and authenticity to every note they play together.

Each of them is equally at home performing as a soloist with orchestra, playing together as siblings, or sharing the stage in more intimate formations such as violin and piano. No matter the setting, one thing never changes: they give everything they have to the music, with passion, intensity, and heart.

Sean Avram Carpenter has been compared by some renowned musicians and critics, in his style of playing, to legendary violinists such as Jascha Heifetz, David Oistrakh, and Nathan Milstein. Today, Sean Avram Carpenter is increasingly recognized by distinguished figures in the classical music world, including Maestro Sergiu Schwarz.

Sean brings audiences back to the golden age of violin playing while preserving his own artistic identity and a subtle touch of modernity. He captures the purity and very essence of these masterpieces that have inspired him since childhood. Beyond his artistry, he is also admired for his generosity and remarkable talent in masterclasses.

Gifted and deeply respectful of the great masters who came before him, Sean approaches every work with profound musical and historical understanding. Like a great actor embodying a role, he brings each composition to life through his knowledge of the stories behind the scores and through the strength of his artistry. In doing so, he restores the forgotten purity, intensity, and power of these timeless works for today’s audiences.

Sean also won few prizes like the Michael Hill violin 🎻 competition in New Zealand 🇳🇿

Dr. Lakshmi Subramaniam is far more than a virtuoso violinist. Across generations, he has shared the stage with some of the greatest artists in the world — from Yehudi Menuhin, Stéphane Grappelli, Al Jarreau and George Duke to Vadim Repin, Ivry Gitlis, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Herbie Hancock. Yet beyond the brilliance of his technique lies something even rarer: an artist who plays with complete sincerity, humility, and soul.

From father to son, the Subramaniam legacy has brought a unique vision to the world of the violin. An instrument born from Western musical traditions becomes, in their hands, a bridge between cultures, emotions, and generations. Through composition and performance, L. Subramaniam transforms every note into something deeply human — music that does not simply impress, but truly speaks to the soul.

What makes him extraordinary is not only his virtuosity, but the profound kindness and respect he brings to every collaboration. Whether performing with legendary musicians or young emerging artists, he carries the same grace, generosity, and passion for music. He is one of those rare artists whose humanity is as inspiring as his artistry.

Beyond the stage, L. Subramaniam has dedicated part of his life to transmitting music to future generations through his foundation in India, helping children discover and learn the beauty of music. He also created the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival in tribute to his father, V. Lakshminarayana, who first passed on to him the love and spirit of the violin.

For 37 years, the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival has become a timeless moment of sharing and artistic dialogue, celebrating the confluence of Western classical and Indian classical traditions. Each year, distinguished guest artists from around the world come together in a celebration of musical excellence, innovation, and human connection. The festival stands today as a living tribute to the legacy of V. Lakshminarayana and as a global symbol of unity through music.
