You will never have this body again. That’s not a sad sentence. It’s an urgent one.

I’ve photographed hundreds of pregnant women. And the ones who wait — who say ‘I’ll do it when I feel better, when I lose the swelling, when I feel more like myself’ — almost all of them come back to me after the birth and say the same thing.

‘I wish I had done it.’

Not because they regret how they looked. Because they forgot.

The weight of it. The way it moved. The specific shape of that particular life growing inside you.

Your body right now is doing something it has never done before and will never do again in exactly this way.

That deserves to be witnessed. Carefully. Beautifully. Permanently.

Not on a phone. Not in a bathroom mirror.

In a photograph that will still be extraordinary in forty years.

What’s the difference between content and a portrait?

Content is usually made to be consumed quickly.

A portrait is made to stay with you.

Content follows trends.
Algorithms.
Attention spans.

But portraiture is slower.

More personal.
More observant.

A strong portrait still means something years later.

Even outside of social media.

And honestly, I think that’s becoming more rare now.

We produce thousands of images of ourselves…
but very few that actually feel meaningful.

Very few that feel intentional.

The truth is - kids don’t pose.
They have their own rhythm, their moods, their little “yes / no” moments.
And I’m not here to fight that - I work with it.

I connect with them easily. Even the tiniest ones.
Sometimes through play, sometimes through slowing things down, sometimes just through a calm energy they can feel.

So the session doesn’t turn into stress.
No “sit still”, no pressure, no expectations they have to live up to.

And in all of this - there is you.
A woman in her motherhood, with all the softness, depth, strength that comes with it.

I always keep my focus on you too.
So you actually like yourself in these photos.
So you don’t just see “a mom” - you see yourself. Beautiful, real, alive.

That balance - a calm baby, a relaxed you, no pressure -

Today’s shoot wasn’t about poses or how to look beautiful in the pictures.
It was about honesty.

My new client told me she’s tired of the pretending in photos.
When everything is about clothes, about the “right” expression, about trying to look like someone else…
and somehow losing yourself in the process.

I knew right away — this wasn’t just a portrait session.
We were creating an honest portrait.

We spent over 2 hours together.
Talking, getting to know each other, slowly finding her real self.
It wasn’t always easy — at times she slipped back into skepticism, closed off again.
And that’s part of it. I was there to gently guide her back to a place where she could just be.

And the brief wasn’t simple, by the way:
— a portrait
— lingerie photos
— a LinkedIn profile image

All without masks.

At the end, we looked through the photos together.
And that moment — that’s why I do what I do.

She was honest:
when it felt awkward, when it was uncomfortable,
and when it suddenly felt natural… even enjoyable to be herself.

Because the truth is —
creating an honest portrait is work.
Yours and the photographer’s.

But it always gives you something deeper than just “a beautiful photo.”
